I have one of these, got it for<£40 at richer sounds sometime ago. The spec is good for a cheap player but It is
    very slow and very noisy.

Bought this from hastings about 3 months ago in their hmv store over there and yes its probably one of the cheapest b;u-ray players out there but its also one of the most useless out there, compared to my samsung,lg and sony blu-ray players this ones build quailty isnt great, the remote is poor unlike most remotes where you dont have to have an exact line of sight to interact with the machine with the phillips remote you do, quite often also the machine locks up or wont even switch off correctly and still displays the message "bye" or whatever it is. Not to say it wouldnt be great as a spare, but people who are just about to invest in the blu-ray era dfont get put off by this machine. Oh and update the firmware immediately from the box, makes the box a bit more stable. There are two versions of this bluray player also the bdp3200 and the bdp3200/05 as far as im aware they identical in every way.

My Main Reason of getting this one, Over the Panasonic was You can make it Region Free with a code, It's Slow, but once it gets playing, there is no problems. Paid £69.99 from HMV.

No built in Wifi, no 3D and no quick access?

    Doesn't seem very future proof.

You say that now. See how long you keep it when it takes up to 3mins to start playing a Blu-ray film once you put in the disc. It is pointless having a Blu-ray player that doesn't have 'Quick Start' mode. Blu-ray players with "Quick Start" takes about 5 seconds to start.

Also this doesn't even support BD Live. That means pretty much all Blu-ray film released in the last couple of years you won't be able to access all the features on the disc.

You really are better off paying a little bit extra. For £20 more you can get a player that will have all the features that will see you way into the future.

    EDIT#

My bad it has got BD-Live.
