If you get a cordless phone - it will be used in bed - that is where mine is used most.

So they are not really much use unless they have a backlit display - this model does not.

Although if you swap the 550mAh batteries in this one for 1000mAh rechargeable AAAs it will run twice as long on a charge.

I use my cordless phone when walking around the house. I generally use my bed to sleep in rather than make phone calls from. :-D

I got a call from comet after reserving this. They rang to say that this model DOES NOT have a speaker function. They were telling me because a customer returned this model because it didn't have the function and the web site is incorrectly showing that it does.

Cordless phones are good in bed if they have a vibrate setting.
#16

Aye it would appear that this product does not have a speaker phone function see Philips website

I have ordered mine..... and got them here now...

I will have a look at the box and see what it says regarding the speaker... .....

edit.. Just looked at the manual and no SPEAKERPHONE --

I will be taking these back in the morning...... The speakerphone is a feature i used a fair bit as theses days your always on hold when ring any company... Also...the added bonus of hands free is useful...

Cheers.

Hey...in order to get caller ID to work, you'll need to subscribe to this function with your telephone line provider. Whether its BT, or talktalk or whoever, you'll need to call them to add this function for the phone to display this.

Depending on the provide, there maybe a charge.

Ordered earlier today online, and collected at my local Comet in Hatfield. Looks fine as a basic two handset cordless. Looks are sleek, and simple, nice black finish.

reserved mine earlier today and picked them up, for the price you cant afford not to have them, ok so they arent the most feature packed phones but hey they ring and when I pick it up theres somebody on the other end, they also allow me phone other folk up thus completing the task of a phone, I dont need it to do anything else as I have a mobile for that, heat and rep to the OP bargain mate!!

Good play Sir! :-D

Most people who make calls are aware of the numbers they dial - so making calls is not the problem.

However, when receiving calls in bed its useful to know whether its worth answering or not.
