excellent dab radio and 1gb mp3 player means that you can stick some songs on their as well. I got this a while back to listen to when I'm out walkin and its great. Please note that if the DAB signal reception in your area isnt great then this wont work very well.

A lot of reviews have rated this down due to the bad signal reception, which is grossly unfair as the item is of excellent top quality and does a fantastic job. Well worth the £19.99 considering I paid £29.99 for it! :)

A good deal, voted hot, but doesn't appear to be any stock in and around west London.

My husband had to pick his up a few miles from where we are....Still worth it though. Other alternative is to pay for home delivery... Still one of the cheapest portable dabs.

looks good. might give it a go

No stock anywhere in Leeds...?
#6
already got one of these, a very nice bit of kit.
#7
anyone tried running with these - is the DAB receiver sensitive enough if reception is reasonable or do they break up when used on the move ?
#8
Hi, does anyone know of anything like this but with the ability to record Dab for listening to later while on the move Voted hot!

I've had one of these for almost a year now. The MP3 playback is very good and it's easy to drag and drop tracks onto it. However make sure that you are in a good area for digital reception. I'm not! Today I watched my son playing football whilst trying to listen to Talk Sport. I had to stand still in one position and hold the player up in the air with one hand to get any decent reception. You certainly could not jog with it where I live. But for the price it'a a great 1gb MP3 player.
Oh and the batteries last forever!

I've had one of these when they came up on a mis price from Argos over a year ago, no issues good litle unit, battery is also good. for £19.99 HOT

none in west Yorks'

Will the dab signal be boosted after the switchover ?
#13
Damn want one but nowt locally :) found stock at wick & montrose if anyone wants one :)

of course anyone with time to get one I'd pay all costs & owe em one (handy 4 both Aberdeen argos stores) ?
#14
I also took advantage of the misprice, and its done me proud ever since. I really don't rate the DAB reception, but I've found that because it uses the headphones as an aerial, its very much dependent on what headphones you use. But as an MP3 player its fine.

Its a good MP3 player, and if you can use the DAB, then £20 is great.
#15
I've had this since the misprice last year, always found the DAB to work perfectly (I use it at work in an office), and the mp3 is good too. I use it most days for Talksport and it works fine (can't use MW in an office, all the interference from PCs).

why is the argos website saying "Unable to check stock at this time", never happened to me before.

same here

well it's working now, and hey presto, "Currently out of stock" for all stores near me LOL, and actually seems to be oos for all stores in scotland.

Yet another Argos 'come on' with nothing to show for the vast majority of people who swallow the bait. Currys is another prominent store that uses this sales strategy in the forlorn hope you may just look at & purchase another similar product. A bit of a time wasting swindle.

Argos have not promoted this item (nor do Currys etc.), they just appear on their website/certain stores and people post it on here. The stores are just trying to get rid of the small amounts of stock they have left - its not a "swindle".

I've just reserved one at my local Argos in SE london.

bought one of these last year from Argos and its a great little DAB Radio. good reception and a must for all footie lovers

Absolutely none in stock anywhere within 30 miles of me. Shame, as I listen to TalkSport a lot and already have a Philips MP3 player which has excellent sound quality so I would expect this to be just as good.

yes signal should be boosted come switch over (technically) though anything that relies on just headphones for it's radio signal is a wind up, is there a micro antenna slot on this item?
#26
Spotted this post at about 1am and reserved online. They had about 3 left when I ordered and when I checked in the morning they were all gone ...

Picked it up and have been playing about with it in the countryside and at home ... I'm well impressed with the DAB quality on some of the 28 I'm able to pick up ... drops to 16 in the study at home tho when rescan is done.

Still ... the sound quality when you have a good signal is superb, highly recommended ... the unit was bigger than I expected, slight plasticy feel to it, but then I'm spoilt with my iTouch a bit hehe... its also a pity it didn't come with some sort of clip to attach to a belt or pocket.... but all these are minor things ... 9/10 from me overall based on the above and the hot price :-)

Really? I thought it was just the freeview signals getting boosted, not DAB?

None local to me - shame, looks good

:):) I saw this post last night and picked mine up this afternoon from Market Drayton, they had 2 in stock. It's probabley this best £20 quid I've ever spent. I was looking for a good quailty MP3 player for the car as it plays music via the phono socket and DAB to boot, RESULT!!!
#30
I have one - got last year sales @ 24.99 I think.
Pretty good quality - use mine everyday travelling to work comined with Amazon Creative noise cancelling earbuds (deal on here too) - cheap enought that not bothered if I loose it.
MP3 is great - takes sub folders, playlists etc.
DAB is good - as stated if in poor DAB reception area not ideal but varies from station to station. I listen to TalkSport mainly - sometimes poor with 1bar on display but if u retune to another station (LBC for Eg.) it is much better.

Overall would'nt be without it - great unit for the price.

Can you please confirm that the DAB radio works fine through the car stereo? Not available at any Argos near me, but if this could provide me with DAB radio in the car I think I'd pick one up elsewhere (available circa £25-£30 on the web).

does this have a charger circuit built-in for recharging appropriate AAA's?
