Have found a review here: http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/digitalradio/0,39030009,49303745,00.htm

Also if it's the same one Tescos currently have it at £51 http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-5703.aspx

Hmm, a weak DAB tuner, not good in a DAB radio!

I love all forms of radio. This is a good price. I was waiting for one to come up on this site, but apart from the Sony one a few weeks ago from Debenhams it's been quiet on the DAB front. Decided today to get the Pure Siesta radio to replace my Xfm radio that broke after little use. Hope the Siesta is good. I missed out on this deal though.

It's a shame if radios have weak tuners. The Pure radios I have should be able to pick up some DAB stations locally but keep failing, things like Xfm or Chill. I have to rely on my internet radio to get them.

this has been £27 for months in my local asda. They occasionally raise the price and then drop it back to £27. Cold for me.

I did say that it was posted on this site 7 weeks ago....but I only noticed it yesterday, so thought I would let people know.....I wonder why I bother

I purchased this Radio from Asda a couple of months ago.Apart from battery usage nothing else is below par. I do not find the Tuner "Weak". Just try and find a better DAB for £27.00 !!.HOT.

I won't pay more than £19 for any DAB radio, that's what my Tevion cost from ALDI and I bet this Philips is no better. DAB is quite frankly rubbish. FM even has better audio quality, but sadly you can only get some stations on DAB. I tried DAB in my car and it was a disaster. I thought I might get better quality reception than AM for Radio 5 Live, I was wrong.
£27 seems quite steep for this really.

Maybe if you paid more than £19 you would not have a problem with the quality...

HA HA HA...WORD UP BORNEO

Cold because BBC are killing 6Music  making DAB radios almost worthless now.

Good deal. Saw this in ASDA Sutton in South London 2 days ago.

I bought one a few weeks ago. Good radio. My only niggle is that on some channels the volume is really quiet when set to max. Other channels are booming so don't know really if it is just a fundamental flaw of DAB or the radio. There is a DAC setting but it doesn't seem to make too much difference.
Apart from that I like it.

Might be an idea to check whether it's upgradeable to DAB+. If you buy a DAB radio that isn't, it's likely to be useless within a fairly short time.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology...adio-epg-guide

Includes the following paragraph:

For consumers, it provides an essential warning: don't buy a DAB radio that does not support WorldDMB Profile 1 and that therefore cannot handle DAB+. There are no DAB+ broadcasts in the UK at the moment, but it's likely there will be. DAB+ uses a much more efficient audio codec, and can provide more stations with better sound quality than DAB.

Was in Asda again today....they must have had at least 100 of these on various shelves around....might make a good Mothers Day present

No it's not the reciever that's the problem it's DAB. Plus as I already mentioned I tried DAB in my car and er I wasn't stupid enough to stick the Tevion on the passenger seat and hope it worked.
