I'm confused.com ... How can 2x1.5w be awesome?
My current stereo is 2 x 30w and I wouldn't say the sound is great. Am I missing something?

Arg, just a shame there's no DAB.

Can't complain at this price but means it's a no-go for me :-(

Oh well. Hot anyway

It's not just about the power output, if the quoted figures can even be replied upon. There's so much more to sound quality.

It also depends on your expectations. As long as you don't expect this to fill a large room with sound and don't like to play your music and fairly high volumes then this could very well be all you need.

But of course, all this is subjective and some people have higher standards/expectations than others :)

Cool, getting my Dad to see if one is avalable as he is near an asda and I'm not. Just what I could do with for my bedroom, don;'t care if its not that loud, will do fine for a bedroom I'm sure. I have a big system in my lounge anyway. Looks a bargain! hot.

Trust me the sound is crisp and got a lotta bass sounds more powerful than 1.5 A LOT MORE plus 40 squids for a kitchen stereo made by philips with cd, remote, iPod dock, fm stereo and aux in for any mp3 is a bargain. Phew tough crowd :whistling:

I have this and don't be disillusioned by the stats. The sound is great from it with an ipod connected (that's all I really use it for). Can be really loud if you want it to be and it doesn't sound tinny or like it's straining the speakers. I use it in my bedroom.

The only sticking point for me is that if you have it on at night (I usually put an audiobook on when going asleep) the display is really bright and lights up the room. I have to cover it up but apart from that it's fine.

Does it charge an iphone 3g??

Any cheap, reasonable quality alternatives with DAB?
#18
Off topic but are there any decent deals for one with a headphone jack for the input ? didnt like the ipod so bought a sandisk fuze and looking for something similar , dont need a cd player on it as i dont see the point ,just a decent sounding docking station with decent output.

Note that you could also use any system with an Aux/phono in, you're not just limited to a headphone jack in. All you'd need then is a phono to 3.5mm jack cable (Maplin, ebay). I mention this because these connections are more common on traditional micro systems.
