OK, I know this isn't the world's best Home Cinema System, but, for a new Philips surround system that plays DivX you can't complain at £87.00 in my opinion, others may know better of course?

Went in Asda last night and saw this so I know for definite it is available in store at this price, you can also buy it online, but, there's a £4.95 delivery charge.

I don't know what it sounds like, I can't find any reviews of it.

I have this set but I Have a question.I can get sound to work on the DVD player because the speakers are connected straight to it. How on earth can I get sound to come from the TV? (Sky) Ive tried plugging in a HDMI cable from the DVD player to the TV and I get nothing.

Nothing nasty. Looks good.

Empire were doing the LG Dvd RECORDER with Home theatre for £115.00.

From Wikipedia:
Class D amplifiers have been widely used to control motors, and almost exclusively for small DC motors, but they are now also used as audio amplifiers, with some extra circuitry to allow analogue to be converted to a much higher frequency pulse width modulated signal. The relative difficulty of achieving good audio quality means that nearly all are used in applications where quality is not a factor, such as modestly-priced bookshelf audio systems and "DVD-receivers" in mid-price home theater systems.

Don't expect too much in audio terms; you have been warned :)

You will need to plug an optical cable from Sky to the Philips system (assuming it has optical). failing that RCA out (Red/white) from Tv or Sky to input on Philips system.

The main limitation with these all-in-one systems is usually limited ability to get 5.1 from external sources

It's a shame people have voted it cold, I thought it was a decent price for those that want a cinema sytem by a good brand for a cheap price, some people can't afford the best priced ones.

I thought it was a good price anyway, I haven't seen it anywhere else for this price?

If it's like my Toshiba upscaling player it may not allow 5.1 optical audio and HDMI audio at the same time. You may have to go into the settings and alter a few things (maybe turn HDMI audio off). I would take note of stuff before you fiddle around though.
