same delivered price at BestBuy, but with opportunity for 10% ex-VAT cashback dropping it down to effectively £22.89 delivered.

No HDMI connection? then not recommended, Although picture quality is just as good on component, but need HDMI these days if you want sound through same cable.

Not used / experienced this Philips item myself.
If an HDMI option is more important to you than brand, consider the Sumvision Phoenix.
SP is comprehensively specified with USB, multiple card slots, HDMI upscaling, divx / xvid, component, etc and typically retails between £25 - £30.
I have one. No issues. Other may disagree. It's a free world.
Scan occasionally shifts it at £20-ish on its "today-only" page, otherwise £29ish when in stock (due mid-March)

Not much stock around at other retailers so may be approaching end-of-life = you could find it a bargain price somewhere!
Or Ebuyer offers similar comprehensive alternative at typical £30 + del.

I have 2 of those, and got some for other people too. Great little players.

It's £25. No big deal at £25. Probably will be used with TVs that dont even have an HDMI socket.

And Philips is a decent brand.

I have one of these philips no hdmi divx playing usb jobbies.

Its ok the usb is only good for music as video seems to much information.

no hdmi is a downer but..........

the component video is excellent

The disc drawer makes its own mind up as to whether its going to open, although tapping on it is a gr8 persuasion technique!

I judge things on whether i would buy them again and I would buy this product again although time is running out as blue ray is the way 2 go!!

£25 quid for a quality divx playing dvd player is a gr8 deal and the usb is handy especially 4playing music via mp3 player onto main sound system, or watching photo's. just not video

my TV doesn't have a spare Scart as its being used by a Sky box..TV has HDMI available. so i think im better off looking for a player with HDMI output.

Well I hope mine works ok with USB video, will soon see. imo blu-ray is pointless it will be outdated in a couple of years by downloads so unless you have an HDTV at the moment and like to own DVDs I dont see the point.
