Is this seriously 5 for 50p!? I'm gonna have to get some.

Yup. I couldn't believe it.

The wife said "39p, that's quite good".

Then we saw the 5 for 50p sign next to it.

Needless to say we bought some.

Great offer :)

Great find

I thought that I had a good deal from Homebase with 5 for £1.50, now I feel like I have been ripped off.
#6
Heading to Morrison now.

Excellent deal. Bought 20 pcs. There are 14 watts as well.
#7
I got 2 packs free from British gas. Each pack has 4 bulbs. Maybe not really free when you realised they are the most expensive energy supplier.
suspended#8
Leeds Morrison does it for £1 for 3
#9
h0ws the warm up time on these??

Or can anyone recommend some energy saving lamps with a short warm up time??

Slow warm ups really annoy me.
#10
dont forget if you are low income then contact your supplier they give you free energy saving light bulbs no need to spend peeps.
#11
I want the screw one!!

Yes these were on nationwide at 3 for £1 but it changed today:thumbsup:
#13
Cool I'm definately buying some of these! The warm up time is quick in my experience but I don't think the Ikea ones we had before were by any means fast. I'm happy with them.
#14
good deal, thanks, just bought them.
#15
Theres no excuse for not having energy saving bulbs at home with prices like this!

Bargain can't go wrong for 10p each

Heat added ..10p each that is a great bargain

These will probably be subsidised by energy companies who will count them towards their CERT's.

Have a look at page 22 and 23 here: http://www.ofgem.gov.uk/Sustainability/Environmnt/EnergyEff/Documents1/CERT%202008-2011%20Supplier%20guidance.pdf

I agree - great offer, but I still haven't found a decent energy saving light bulb.

I love the idea of them but I can't stand the greenish light they give out, nothing like the warmth of tungsten. Also they always have the equivalent wattage which is never right - the energy savers are never as bright.

Regarding the colour, I wonder if a filter tint could be applied (by the manufacturer) to correct the colour problem?

I do use energy savers for ceiling lights when you just need to light the room, but all the others are still tungsten I'm afraid until the manufacturers make energy saver bulbs which don't make it look like the room is lit with flickery, cold, dim strip lighting.:pirate:

are these available in the small screw cap fitting? all of my lamps (from ikea) only seem to take those small screw in bulbs..

Completely agree. This is the only thing putting me off. There are dimmable versions but they are so expensive!!

You can get fast start ones at TLC-direct, but not at this price!

same gripe here BUT got 5 of these over the weekend and they were surprisingly small! however they lit up pretty much instantly - I can honestly say I didn't notice any significant warm up. brilliant little thing

they've got em both ...screw type and bayonet

If you like tungsten bulbs, then stock up because they are shortly being phased out, and no longer available, indeed the process has already started, note how many are available via
"retail carbooters";-);-);-)
#33
Went the Widnes store this morning and they didn't have the offer on :(
#34
Offer available in the Nottingham Gamston store. Although limited to 20 bulbs per customer as someone tried to buy the whole lot.
Plenty of stock as of this lunchtime.
#35
Plenty in Redditch as well.

11w and 14w , and a choice of bayonet or ES fitting.

They are in the first aisle , half way up on the right
#36

Plymouth stores had plenty this morning . even had to tell the staff about them as they didn't know about the offer..... (staff info needed methinks... :-)
#38
Offer non existent in Ellesmere Port store :-(
#39
Just been to the Rhyl store and bought 15 bulbs (five x 11 watt/60 watt for my mum),

They also have the 14 watt (75 watt equivalent) in stock.

Both screw and bayonet fitting.

Voted hot and rep left.
