The brand is Philips, so you can be sure that you are getting quality for your money. Not only are they amazing value, but they come with a 10 year guarantee, they will last a lot longer than a standard light bulb and they are environmentally friendly. It doesnt get better than that!

heat and rep
Are these the single skinned ones that give you sunburn?
Yes sure they're cheap but they look like they should be used in a public loo
sold out in 4 out of 7 shops in Bham...
in sainsburys yesterday they had 5 for 50p
I really don't understand how these buls get so hot(the deal not the actual bulb;))

I have loads of them i have got for free and never bought one in my life and they last for ages so what would you do with 10?
I say that because most of my lights wouldn't take one of these anyway of if they did they'd stick out the top of the lamp etc:/
Good deal. Does any one know if these produce the white light?

I have tried too many brands/varieties, but all of them produce yellow light. I think the white ones will enhance the appearance of the entire room.

Please post if anyone knows if any other type which will produce the white light. I particularly dont want to put the fluorescent tubes as they dont decorate well.

govt pay £1.20 odd to the retailers for every bulb sold - these deals are coming out of our taxes

any 1 know the watts?dont seem to see them over 10

No they don't.

yes they do. Just tried to buy 5k of 11 watt philips/osrams. phoned 7 out of 11 philips recommended electric resellers in B'ham. Each of them CANNOT and WON'T supply below the price of 1.50-1.90/ea.

They all are VERY mad, that every single retailer gets the bulbs subsidised; they all know it and are simply buying from the retailers to resell :whistling:

its all true mate.
In spain a local supermarket had a pack of 3 long life bulbs, marked buy 2 bulbs + get 1 free
The price 12.99 euros (about £11.60) ;-)
Good job I got a pile from Morrisons before I left !!! They could not get rid of the screw in type
Whatever market forces are at work here it is not government subsidy. There is currently no subsidy on any domestic low energy bulb. I
The turbo / tornado versions are better... but it's still a great price.
Where can we buy 'white light' bulbs? These give a yellow light.
I wonder how the guarantee works?

Do you post the defective darkbulb back to them and they refund your 10p?
Isn't it illegal to post mercury?
Where can we buy 'white light' bulbs? These give a yellow light.

You can buy daylight energy saving lightbulbs at any number of online lightbulb stores.
I seen these in my local poundland today but im sure it was just 5 for a pound... either way a good deal but as others have post I dont tend to need to buy these often as end up with them free all the time.
COLD. These are evil environmentally-unfriendly timebombs. They DON'T last for ten years and most people are NOT going to dispose of them properly, they will end up in landfill - even if very expensive special provision is made for recycling.

Read the link in the first post.
B&Q are doing 5 for 39p so why is this hotter?????
good offer, but robert dyas have had the same offer for a while now and still ongoing.
