Price ok but not great (ebuyer £149.99 with free delivery) http://www.ebuyer.com/product/264355

Reviews imply its a bit rubbish so I'm not rushing to get one http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B003H9N3LE/ref=cm_cr_pr_top_recent?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending

I'm hard pushed to find any HD freeview PVR that works without issues.

If i bought this and collected from a store could you return it the same way?
Do Asda have an additional warrenty you can buy? this is one of the few consumer items that guaranteed to fail.

No need to waste money on an additional warranty. If it's not fit for purpose (as seems to be the case if posts on AV Forums are representative), then take it back. There's plenty of precedent which you can claim to have discovered after you bought it.

Is that not a Refurb at ebuyer ??

If it plays up....straight back ........if you trawl the net you'll get loads of negative on most
things .......I found a few reviews that were fairly positive......what the hell if its not
up to scratch it goes right back post-haste.

I had one of these until recently. It is made by Pace badged Philips
Well made and compact unit. However there are software issues affecting these boxes which are taking an age to remedy despite software updates. Mine had a juddery playback on recorded material. If you get one that is fault free this price is excellent however you could be frustrated
