Great price. Here's the Which review for what it's worth.

The Philips GC3640 steam iron works quietly to achieve good results on a wide range of fabrics, but it's a little slow to heat up.

It takes just over a minute to reach the three-dot temperature setting - a few seconds slower than most - but once it's hot the non-stick soleplate glides well, allowing you to work quickly. It's not quite as steamy as our Best Buys, so you'll need to put in a little more effort to get through stubborn creases.

The cord is a generous 3 metres in length, so you won't be restricted to ironing right next to a plug socket. It clips around the heel when not in use, so the iron can be stowed away neatly.

You'll get 23 minutes of continuous steam before you need to top up the tank, and we were able to steam successfully on the one-dot setting, even though the instructions recommend a minimum of two dots.

The GC3640 has an eco function, which is designed to increase the steam output when the user presses down on the handle. We found this made the iron more tiring to use and produced very little increase in the amount of steam.

Descaling is a doddle. Simply hold the self-clean button and lift the iron while it cleans. It's very effective, so it won't be long before the steam output is back to full power.

Like most steam irons, the only way to iron vertically is to repeatedly press the steam shot button, and this gives poor results.

Pros: Good results, quiet, effective self cleaning, tidy storage, long power cable

Cons: Slow to heat up
