Before I continue I do not condone the spending of this amount on an iron! This will apparantly save me hours of time ironing thus giving me my life back. Quite good if put that way!

Having had a look into steam generator irons, philips seem to be the best. Tefal equivalents are being sold for £200+.

Listed at £139.99. You have to use the "REVIEW5" code to get it at this price. I have had £3.99 tracked on Quidco but this could be taken off me because I've used the discount code.

For irons over £150 you can get 10% off by using "10STEAMIRON"

Philips GC8460 with continuous steam up to 110 g/min for fast crease removal and with 170 g/min steam boost to target tough creases
SteamGlide soleplate for powerful steam and superb gliding
Detachable 1.6L watertank requires less refilling
Quick restart feature makes it ready to use in two minutes
Easy one touch cord storage, just press the button and the cord will be wind in the iron's base automatically

The 6 top best buys in the Which? reviews contain 4 Philips irons (1st/2nd/4th/6th) and 1 Tefal (5th). There are 10 Philips models and 7 Tefal models in the top 25.

They haven't tested this one yet but the Philips GC8320 came first in the which? review and those specs weren't as good as this iron.

I've spent far to much time recently looking into irons!

think the 'original' £299 price tag is over inflated as argos have it with £65 off for £150... and amazon at priciest £215.

Thanks for the rep!

Yeah, I hate RRPs, I never pay attention to them!

not sure if the code still works but here's an update anyway - Quidco was declined.

Good luck with the cashback!
