Heat. Some people obviously don't know this is the Rolls Royce of irons.

Genuine question - what's the difference between these fancy irons with docking stations compared to those priced at £20-30?

the power of the steam, you can iron jeans, shirts anything with 1 pass over. Not that I'm an expert in ironing but these are very good could never go back. it's the difference between a pedal bike and a motorbike.

There are pros and cons.
This sort of thing is lightweight in the hand and has more consistent powerful steam (usually). It also has a bigger water tank so you don't have to keep topping it up. It adjusts temperature automatically (from what I'm told, not all steam generator irons do this so check before buying).
On the other hand it is heavier overall - around 4-5kg total and takes more room wherever you're storing it and generally more expensive to buy.

I've used one before and ironing was easier but I've only ever owned the standard iron - I'm looking forward to having this one delivered - it means I can start wearing the shirts I don't usually wear because I can't be bothered to spend ages ironing out those tough creases.
