Came across this at my local RD and asked from a member of staff as it was strange compared to the individual price; he confirmed that the price for three is cheaper than an individual one, so I took three for 99p!!

The website does not show such an offer.

They had Edison and Bayonet with various powers.

Strangely a New Lamp we've got is Edison Screw, as is the bulb in our Bathroom Light.

Maybe because they don't give out an unlimited supply of them? We have had 4 from British Gas and have way more than 4 lights in the house.

Stock up while they are cheap because when the standard bulb is no longer available next year, you don't think in RIP OFF BRITAIN that they are going to be 3 for a £

I was told there are tax rebates for companies that undertake energy saving initiatives.
By subsidising the bulbs and selling 'em cheap/free the companies get a large cheque from the tax man...

That won't happen as the government has a mandate set up that prevents the monopolies selling them for a higher than agreed price , they will always be cheap .

What I'd really like is some brighter low-energy lamps. The 23W ones used to be pretty widely available but they rarely seem to appear now.

its worth a mention that these are work for indoor grow rooms (herbs etc.) but you would need a minimum of 5. Voted hot! ++++

I had my first one of these type of "bulbs" go a couple of weeks ago and I recall that it cost me £2-£3 so this deal was very useful. At 33p each I stocked up. A good buy whatever others say!
