Hmmmm, very interested in these, anyone confirm if they're any good. Look like just what I want.

This is one of Argos's non-deals. It's not too bad for £39.99, and Amazon reviewers seem to approve of it. But the 4GB's £29.99 on Amazon, which gives you an idea of the player's value. And this same item has been on sale at £39.99 before, according to Argos's own site.

At this price range I'd have a look at the Sandisk Sansa Clip and the Clip+ which are both very good and very small mp3 players.

hell at that price i'd hold out until you can find an Archos 1 Vision in stock :)

Cracking little player.

Can you upload files via normal windows explorer (like a flash drive), or do you have to use some stupid proprietary software?
#8
no software, just drag and drop

Not sure about this one but i had a gogear awhile back and you had to use the philips software to add songs. It was absolute rotten to use, bit like how itunes works but would take forever to transfer songs. Hard to manage whats on it too. Maybe this has been fixed but it's put me off anything Philips mp3 for life.

Easy as 1-2-3 drag and drop.

Anyone know if the Sandisk Sansa Clip is drag and drop or is additional software needed?

Sansa clip is drag and drop, the old GoGear i had was drag and drop but if it had to be reformatted or re-set you have to have the software for the device manager to sort it out for you...so if you buy don't loose that software disc.
