Same item is £199.99 on Boots, £170 on eBay.
Amazon have beaten the price by a lot.

After using this for a while i can safely say it really does work.
After just 4 days i've been going to bed earlier, waking up easier
and my mood is starting to improve - and its just been 4 days.

I don't know 100% if i have SAD, but generally been feeling down
and this is really helping. Would recommend it a lot.

* Insomnia (cant get to sleep until late 4-5am)
* Bit depressed during day
* Sluggish and tired
* Very hard to get out of bed, and feel tired still after sleep

^^ If you have any of them this will definitley help

Could just as easy be Sleep Apnoea, Myxoedema or Menopause (if female) or Late onset Hypogonadism (if Male); and any number of other things.
Sorry - a bit of a slip on the mouse pad while browsing! Please unexpire!!
its spring now.....
What would bother me most about these, apart from the very high price, and whether they work or not, would be that they have to be used with battery power, rather than mains. The battery will take around 300 charges, each charge will do around 3 sessions, and it isn't clear from the manual whether it can be replaced.
Don't suppose anyone is following this thread now but the price has now dropped to £99.99 on Amazon and after a VAT claimback this drops even further to about £85
These are excellent units if you need one. And if you're not sure then there's the money back guarantee offered by Philips themselves so you can give it a go. I found this unit made an almost immediate difference to my sleeping patterns and quality of sleep. Within a couple of days I was back on a normal schedule. If I hadn't experienced it myself I too would have been extremely skeptical.

The science, as I understand it, is fairly simple. Bright light stops the production of the sleep hormone melatonin and so you feel more awake - because you are more awake. The hormone cortisol take over and energy production increases.
