Paid £60 for it

It works BUT Only when youve had a good nites rest dont expect it to work if you only slept for 5 odd hours

The light is bright and the sounds are good but doesnt work
For me anymore as im a deep sleeper

Really tempted, but what puts me off is that some reviewers mention a low buzzing sound? That would irritate the hell out of me!

I've got a good idea, leave the curtains open. The magical light in the sky will wake you.

does anyone here know if they sell this lamp cheap anywhere else than amazon.co.uk?
Im currently reside in Sweden and I so wanna buy it but Amazon UK wont ship it.
The lamp here in sweden are still at ordinary price, around 120 pounds and I dont think the lamp is worth that much of money.

Read my first comment - it imitates sunlight to rouse you but tbh unless you are working nights it doesnt really do much for waking up

I was sceptical at first but this has worked pretty well for me. There's been no buzzing at all and is really easy to use.

Great product, good price.

I've had one of these for a while now and it works brilliantly. Not heard any buzzing noises coming out of it.

Ordered, Thanks OP! Much cheapness!

My wife has had one of these for a year. The light alone wouldn't likely completely wake her, but the radio does - and having the light come on gradually for a period before the alarm goes off means a more gentle wake-up than an alarm blasting through the darkness. It's on her bedside table and she says she has never heard any buzzing.

I bought one of these the last time round.

Even at £40 i have mixed feelings on this.

1. The buttons are stiff and also tedious to use.
2. The radio is tedious to use (because of the button)
3. The sleep functoin has 15, 30, 60 min settings but oddly no 45 mins setting.
4. The menu system is tedious to use for setting alarm, adjusting settings etc.

Apart from that, its a dimming / brightening lamp! I just wish there was better execution in terms of usability.

I have one of these and I really like it. I'm not convinced I wake up feeling any more refreshed, but it's far less jarring than a shrill alarm. I use the wind chime sound which is very gentle - I also like the birdsong, but started to find that I was waking up early in the summer with the actual birds singing at 5am...

It's also nice as a bedside light. I have set mine to start to light up half an hour before the alarm time and the best bit is waking in the night and knowing that there's more than half an hour to go before I have to get up as the light hasn't come on. :o)

I have two words for this, and the first is shart

I have one, they work fine just turn the volume up to 7 or 8, i guarantee you'll wake up

Bought one of these last time and I love it. I hate getting up in the dark but since using this I don't feel so grouchy. There's no buzzing on mine. It's typical Philips design, futuristic and stylish. The lamp fades up or down when you switch it on or off which is a nice touch. The controls are fiddly at first but once it's set up it's done. The alarm on/off/snooze lever I'd great too. I really like how it lights the room without lighting up the ceiling, as this would be too harsh.

It has to go back to Phillips

Why waste your money? simply make sure you awake on time with a cup of hot tea and toast and the morning paper by threatning your missus/man with extreme violence and torture if they dont wake you in time for work.

Works for me. Or did.

These work really well, we got one with an ipod dock for £99. Ipod dock is a bit crap but the light is brilliant. Im always awake before the alarm now and there isnt that awful getting up dread that I used to have. As someone else said, the controls are a bit awkward but, the basic functionallity is superb. I cant believe how much difference it makes. Well worth £40

just drink a pint of water before bed... you will need a whizz before your alarm goes off then you be up.
