Not quite the £19.99 it was a few months back when I bought one but still a good price for what I consider to be a good quality shaver.

Charging time is only an hour which is a lot quicker than the models below it.

I bought one of these and it arrived today - shaved off my 3 day old beard with no problem at all. Not as close as a wet shave, but acceptable ...

I only bought it as I fly to europe quite often, and i'm fed up of having to check my luggage in, but you can't carry a normal razor in your hand luggage for the obvious reasons ...

Very pleased - especially at this price !

I bought this shaver a year ago from Amazon, when it was slightly cheaper at £21.
Its a very good shaver and gives a close shave, much better than foil shavers IMO. Charge lasts ages. Its also very light, quiet, and ergonomic to use.
Its well worth this price.... Hot.

I have one which I bought at 19.99, does the job but IMO it's not as close as my foil Remington. I have voted it HOT as I still think it's a good deal for the money.

Great shaver. Quickly charges and does a very good job. Charge lasts for ages as someone said above.

I also bought one when they were on here at £19.99.

Great shaver, way better than my foil remington but admittedly not as good as a wet shave. One charge lasts ages. Definately a good deal at this price too.

Worth it for the replacement blades only if you want HQ55

I have used both types, and the philips gives a very quick, acceptable shave, whilst foil shavers shave closer but are slower and no good on long growths. These days I usually use a wet shave - both quick and close.

Edit: as you can see from my avatar, it does a good job.

this isnt one that can be cleaned by putting under the hot tap and washing, so voting cold.
Good price for a shaver, but cant be cleaned properly.

Just unclip the shaver head unit and wash it under a tap and leave to dry. I have done it loads of times without problems.

Umm, I take the heads off and run them under the tap and then use the brush to clean the shaver section - cleans it spotlessly? Therefore, I'll add some heat to this deal.

Also use the Philips HQ110 Shaving Head Cleaner spray that also lubricates the heads and continues to give a great shave. Cheapest I found it was here:

I've been doing the same for the past year with no problems.

As people have said above, I also clean my HQ6990 under a running tap (only the head of course).
If you find that efficiency decreases, you probably need to take the head apart and clean the blades individually. Make sure that you dont mix up the blade sets with each other. If you do, you need to "run in" the head again for a while before you get full efficiency.

The blades are self-sharpening and last for ages. Mine always out-lived my shavers.

Surprised to read so many positive comments. Will try to check the model number of the one I have, but it's awful. The shave is not close and it can't hold charge to save its life.

Just been looking at this on Amazon, then came here to check if it was posted.
Looked to be a good deal (£35 on Ebay), and judging from comments looks like it is.
Price dropped to £22.90.
