Me too at £29 last week, much smoother shave than my 2 yr old Philishave 6707 and no need for those expensive nivea balm bags that didn't seem to work!

I bought this one last week for 29£. It is a good shaver, however i still get red skin around my neck which hurts. May be i just need to get used to it. it works fine and lasts multiple shave. Heat added.
#13
Does aftershave not stop it?

Or perhaps you were just designed to be a redneck!:whistling::whistling::whistling:

As mentioned by Gary in the previous posting of this deal, get the following stick to help with shaver burn:
http://www.shavers.co.uk/shopping.php?product_id=391

My neck suffered initially also, but this product has made a noticeable difference - worth the fiver.

A mod please remove EXPIRED status and change the price to £31.99 - very good price!

I've just noticed that Amazon increases the price when they have more orders on an item.

Got one of these last week, moving on from Braun/Remington foil shavers. The motor is very quiet but feels really underpowered compared with the razors I have had and it takes a while to finish a shave. How does this compare with other Philips shavers?
#27
As could be expected, this one is not as powerful as the £70-£80 philishaves owing to its use of ni-mh batteries versus the li-ion of the better models.
This is still a great price and I've bought one to replace my 6 year old high spec philishave model that needed new heads at £10 each! Might as well get new heads on a new shaver :-D
#28
i already own http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-HQ6695-Rechargeable-Rotary-Shaver/dp/B000GIY44E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=personal&qid=1206017329&sr=1-1

and then bought the philips hd7290 and it just does not perform as good as the above one, infact it can't pick up some hairs which the above one can

so will be returning it for a refund

This isn't a £70 to £80 shaver its actually a £90 shaver so will be superior with a quieter motor..

A Li-Ion rechargeable battery will last about three years, starting from the time of manufacture, versus about five years for a NiMH battery so better value for the ni-mh battery methinks..:)
