This is getting down to something near it's true value now!

For a start this model has no trimmer (the better models in the range do, but it's very poor as a trimmer anyway!), and this type is very different to previous Philips models, people seem to love or hate this type, I hate it despite being a long term Philishave user :-(

See threads on HS8020 HS8040 & HS8060 also HS8400 series, and look at the very mixed reviews on those too (eg at Amazon) before you decide to risk it or not.

great find.

Philips razors are over rated and over priced. This is about the right price for this. I once bought a Philips coolskin nivea razor for £65 brand new on ebay, the high street price was around £110. It was nothing special. I later tried a Braun Cruzer 4 which was even worse, now I use a blade and find that much better than any electric razor and better for my skin.

Come on, 3 more degrees needed to make this hot!!!

I don't think any electric shaver is as good as a wet shave. Happy to be proven wrong. However I have used a philips shaver for years and always been pleased with the results. Takes a little practice though, to get a clean shave first time. It possibly takes a little longer than wet shaving too. One thing is for certain I have saved a 'lot ' of money over the years against buying blades for gilletes (spelling) over priced (IMO) gear that only lasts around 10 shaves per blade.
Hope that helps.

Which 5% code?

Comet were doing a christmas raffle of discount codes a week or so ago. Don't think it's still on unfortunately, but I hadn't used the code so it still worked for me.
Thought it was still on with the discount voucher links, but just trawled through them and no joy :(

Of course a proper razor is better, I never thought otherwise, but it's not very convenient.
Try putting one of those in the car or office drawer and see how conveneient that is for the unexpected meeting that gets called when you have decided you can have a day off shaving because you aren't meeting any public that day!

At the prices we see offers on shavers on here, I don't think they are overpriced any more than most consumer goods, I just think Philips have lost the plot with this and the Arcitec range :-(

Just reserved at £31.49 using a 10% code from the promotion. Thanks :)
