Recently got the Philips Imageo candles delivered that were posted on hotukdeals and was very impressed. The candles came with a leaflet highlighting other Philips Imageo products and after a quick search noticed that this one looked a great price - if it's anything like the candles it will be a quality product and, generally, some good reviews on Amazon. Thought it might be useful for some who need a light in dark areas, but without the hassle of installing a permanent fixture. Battery life has been reported as an issue so it's probably best to use them in locations, like dark cupboards, so they only light up when the sensor detects motion and when needed.

* Small and portable light.
* Motion sensitive.
* LED technology creating a crisp white light.
* Perfect for lighting dark areas such as a closet, kitchen cupboard or a garage.
* Easy installation, simply stick, screw or apply to magnetic surface.
* Battery operated (3xAAA batteries included).
* White finish.
* Product Dimensions in mm: Height 68, Width 17.

As was highlighted in the thread for the candles at the link:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/hot-philips-imageo-led-rechargeable/752422

"got ten of these that change all different colours from chinese website for less than 4 quid,so this aint all that really,try DH GATE for these and third the price for ten candles and cups

But these are real glass and quite sturdy, you chinese ones will no doubt be cheap and tacky plastic."

Not saying the ones in Poundland are cheap Chinese ones, but at the end of the day, you pays your money and takes your choice - knowing the quality of the Philips candles I received, personally I'd stick with these.

I bought a few of these before and they were pants. They didn't turn off so just drained the batteries. Got them replaced and the replacements did the same. I though maybe my wardrobe has some sort of movement in it, so put one in a closed shoebox for 10 minutes, the light was still on.

Good idea, useless in practice.

The candles are great these not so.

I'd agree with you. I got a couple and they didn't last very long. I bought a couple Osram spylux at b&q when they were 2 for 1 (they didnt advertise this and it just came up at the till as a multi-buy discount). These work great since it combines a motion sensor and only switches on in the dark. So will only switch on when its needed. I did think that these were naff as well since they started to stay on all the time but the battery was just low. After swapping the batteries it works great again. In short, save your cash and don't buy the philips. If you need something like this, spend a little more and get a product that won't end up in the bin.

Please I recall this is about what I paid so it's not a deal. it's the typical price.

They are supposed to turn off in the dark and I'm sure they must for a lot of people but mine didn't.

These are good but the sticky pads are not that good :(

Although £8.99 these versions appear to have sensors for day vs night ?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-Spoton-Ultra-69141-One-pack/dp/B002MCZL8U/ref=pd_sxp_grid_i_0_0

Orientation light for dark/hard to light areas
Daylight sensor and infrared motion detector for automatic switch on/off
Innovative LED technology with extremely long operating life
Includes various accessories to enable 'easy' mounting on many surfaces
Battery operated, includes 3xAAA (LR03) batteries

Instant light anywhere and everywhere
The improved SpotOn Ultra (as oppose to its predecessor SpotOn) is a compact wireless lamp with a high brightness LED and efficient reflector for effective light distribution. Using the accessories that are included, SpotOn Ultra is perfect for dark hallways, under beds or in cupboards. Furthermore it doesn’t need mains connection or a light point due to the fact that it is battery operated (3 x AAA Alkaline batteries included). Thanks to the daylight sensor and infrared motion detector, SpotOn Ultra turns itself on when someone is close, but only when it’s dark. This saves battery power as well as eliminating the need to fumble around for a light switch. Available in six great colours, the SpotOn Ultra is a great gift idea and impulse buy, because every home has places that need a SpotOn Ultra.

See this is why I love HUKD. I was all ready to drop a fivespot on this garbage but the comments brought me back down to earth and my visa debit remains safely in my wallet. Woo hoo!

I have the Osram versions. Brilliant for the toilet at night without burning your retias out with the main lights. I also have them in closets and in the shed - great products and the Phillips ones look similar but without the day/night sensor.

thanks a lot, Goldstink. I was about to comment that this misses the light sensor and you already come up with the solution. Have some rep ;)

Didnt they simply sense the shobox lid opening and come on? The only real way to be sure is to get into the shoebox.

anyone shopping in Costco can check...
They sell a pack of 3 lights for around 17 quid. Lights have motion sensor and each light have 9 strong led's. They are very good.
#18
second dino123 - the ones in costoc don't look nearly as nice, but they are strong, well built and do the job well!
#19
thanks!
I have the last one
#20
can you override these these to stay on for 5 mins?
