Seeing as they're £7.99 each I would say this is a bargain. You can click and collect as well.

Is the light any better and does it justify a 1000% price difference ?

If you're on a meter like I am these are the best invention since....the last best invention. Well certainly instant on means they don't use up more energy than a 40's style light bulb warming up (as the previous "Energy Saving" bulbs do). I'm converting all my bulbs to LED.

80% less energy, last 15 yrs with 3 hours usage a day, don't take ages to warm up like those ugly things.

Just standard cap, no screws in this sale ?

Need at least 6 he's a day in winter so not 15 years .. Sound too much like the energy saving fads though LED is a technology. to last

I left my phone in my car so I couldn't get a photo but I can assure you 100% it is not just those 2 bulbs on the site that are in this offer. And they're nothing like the Energy Saving light bulbs - those ones aren't instantly on they have to warm up.

They say 15 yrs with 3 hours usage but like most people i use them at least double that, but the energy saving is worth the price if you get deals like this one, keep an eye on amazon as well.

If you click on the link you will see that there are screw cap bulbs.

I just think the cost of these negate the savings vs keeping the energy saving ones already in, just have to wait for them to blow.

i have converted my entire house to led lights..(since the smart meter has been installed) the savings have been so good in 2 months they've already paid for themselves

Bought these for 1.79 in tesco last summer, replaced with some from local electrical shop!! Philips ones aren't the best, new ones have 5 year warranty!!

Do you find that LED bulbs hurt your eyes at all (serious question!) I changed all my spotlight fittings to warm white LED's and they're so bright!

I accept that the internal 3 volt led components will last 50k hrs usage down to 70% light output but I am much less confident from feedback on this forum that the little internal power converter will similarly last very long. So keep your receipts or wait until the industry gets its act in order. The guy I knew who designs led lights for street furniture, used to manage without any electrolytics - much the best way to extend life imho.
