One of the boxes at B&Q in Selly Oak has a clearance label on it for £65 (the printed label on the shelf said £79) so I checked if this one was an ex display model (the box was a bit of a mess) and they said no the labels just haven't been changed yet. So I picked up one of the brand new boxes. Excellent product, tempted to go back and get another as you can link up to 6 of them together.

seeing as how it's LED, not much.

These were red hot at £58 from Amazon, now expired.

I bought one, liked it so much I bought a second. It's an equivalent light output to a table lamp, and two either side of the sofa set to a sunrise-orange colour make the evenings very pleasant.

I got one when it was on offer on Amazon. This is a good price for a brilliant gadget. It's lovely.

...its a piece of very EXPENSIVE CRAP

wait for the LED Lights 'in 6 months' ... selling for 3-5 £ a piece .. in ALL COLORS (color Temps) of the universe.

with 'decent light output' ...= above 40 W ... out of 3 to 4 W input! (= 1/2 the current best CFL energy savings bulbs!)

Don't waste your money on 'eary LED Crap (as yet)

think about the 6 xCFL - 'energy saving bulbs for 29 pence !' in every Morrisons ..now/ lately

You know where the train is heading ..

TO GENERAL LED - BULBS!

You say it's "crap", yet "the train" is heading to LED lighting? It can't be that crap then can it, if the entire industry sees it as the future of lighting? :whistling:

This might be cheaper than equivalent branded products in UK high street stores, but it is an obscene price for what it is - A cluster of synched medium-power multicolour LEDS.

Check out the multicolour LED offerings directly from Hong Kong (DealExtreme, for example) or from a dedicated lighting supplier.

e.g. : http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2710

About £20 delivered, admittedly you have to wait, but it's to illustrate how overpriced this is for very very simple semiconductor lighting. There are far cheaper better quality options than the dealextreme ones too, I've seen entire houses kitted out with loads of them for art projects for about £100 using wholesale suppliers.

Not voting, cause the high streets are still vacant of other options, but these will PLUMMET in price soon.

Agreed, this is not a cheap a any price over £50, however this model does include an RF remote which can be synch'd with up to 8 units so that they operate in unison. That is fairly unusual and not a cheap item to add to a product.

Also I'd pay a good few quid more for Philips LED lighting over some no-name crap from China. Having handled two of these, they are made of the highest grades of acrylics and plastics and beutifully finished, I'm sure the same cannot be said of the imports.

Hi folks , this is my first posting but have been a silent fan of this site for quite some time. ive been looking to buy this particular lamp for quite some time but did not want to pay the full retail price for it. My son is autistic and i wanted it for him to aid his sensory development and also to help provide a calm environment for him. i came across this hot deal this morning, phoned my local B&Q in Edinburgh and went down to collect it earlier this afternoon. It is labelled as £79 but when it scans at checkout it goes through for £65 . Thank you -k-uk for posting this youve made my day!
