Blooming Light Fantastic.......Ordered
#8
Just ordered 3 i already have a big round one and 2 small ones the big ones are great if you have more than 1 they work together and £28.99 is less than half the normal price. Just wondering what the difference is between the Bloom and Arura apart from the stand.

good find

As I see it
Aura is actually glowing even from the backside while bloom is lighting only from the front side

Size and finish. The aura is much larger and plastic, the bloom finish is metallic.

Stupid lights, might please some people but they would annoy the heck out of me after the 3 minute novelty factor had wore off!

Don't be put off, I have used one of these before and they are pretty amazing. They are very bright and have a large range of vibrant colours.

This is an actual bargain.

can this actually be used as the main light in a room daily and only be used for mood lighting occassionally for parties etc or is this useless as a main light in a room. can this be controlled by android phones or is the supplied remote needed.

Great deal op, ordered!

Thank you. Ordered a bloom at same price as spotted by another poster.
I have several of these philips lamps in various types and have also bought them as gifts, never disappointed

That video on Amazon is really bad.. I kinda wanted it to fade out at the end and then back in again, to reveal that the dude had fallen asleep and spilt his wine all over himself, but that he was able to find the correct 'wine colour' for it not to matter :D

Dammit, why don't Phillips bring back Ambilight for PC? Wouldn't be hard to have some USB connected lights that glow in concert with games and movies (as with the TV version). I have the old Ambilights that are a pain to get to work on Windows 8.1 and have huge VGA-type connectors.

Got one of the new LED things but it just sits there glowing gently and prettily. I want something more interactive. If anyone knows of such a device (that is also fairly inexpensive - I've seen custom made jobs that must have cost hundreds to build), I'd be interested to know... :)

I think Aura is A room light , while bloom is more a lamp to FOCUS on something. (a spot a painting etc)
#29
.Have it for more than year.
Great stuff.
Also 4 whites available for the same price:

Nice one, thanks :-) Just ordered 2, one for each Bay window :-) Better keep red off otherwise people will think I run a brothel lol ;-)

Light that changes colour woop de doo. Bought one and still in box.

I think these are 120 lumens if anyone is curious. The gen 2 and gen 3 iris produces 210 lumens.

Thank you. My wife likes to have the lighting in the room as if it were lit by a dim candle far far away. I hope this will satisfy her need for bare minimum lighting while allowing me to see a foot ahead of me but with a pretty hue!

Should be ok for that. I use the bigger iris version behind my 42" tv and it spreads a nice light behind it to ease eye strain and increase perceived contrast in an otherwise unlit room when watching films. . I set it to blue.

Could do with these after the England Football Team performance tonight :(

I also have the Phillips ambi lights for the PC, amazing bit of kit. Phillips sold the arm of the company working on their Led system and now seems slightly abandoned. They did release a follow up produce made by madcatz but didn't have the best reviews and was very expensive for what they did. Two lamps were around £100 in a set, compared the Phillips premium set which included the speaker system, fans, rumble bar and lights for £120.
