Much cheaper here http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/lighting/batteries-chargers/alkalisk-battery-alkaline-art-50240502/

Works out £5.40 for same set of batteries, if you have an Ikea a reasonable distance.

which one? Philips OR Alkaline?

Philips do the cheap 10 for £1 AA / AAA in poundstores. These don't look the same but certainly wouldn't rate them a good battery brand based on their performance.

That's more like it - I don't like paying more than £1/6 batteries (I don't include ikea as I rarely go - if I do then I stock up!!) so 32 for £5 is the sweet spot. Thanks for the heads up, I'll check my local tomorrow!

Wilko do packs of four of their own brand for 50p in AA/AAA as well
