Seems a really great product and a great price.

But I've had 5.1 speakers before and it used to get interrupted by phone signals; is that a problem with these?

Probably not directly from the PS3. The PS3 will only output 5.1ch sound over digital connections -

http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/audiooutput.html

If you TV will output the 5.1ch sound then you could do PS3 hdmi to TV, then TV to speakers. According to the philips site you can hook up your tv.

http://www.consumer.philips.com/consumer/en/gb/consumer/cc/_productid_MMS460_05_GB_CONSUMER/Multimedia-Speaker-5-1+MMS460-05

You'll need to check out your TV specs though.

Check the samsung site http://www.samsung.com/uk

I have a 37" samsung, it doesn't look promising.

got these a few years ago, worked well for about 3 months and then the base system started unexplainably violently popping. Couldnt find out what the problem was after asking about. Sent back to amazon and they sent me a new set. These did exactly the same. Set them up on a diff computer at a friends house and they popped there too. V strange!!! Ive now sony speakers and ive had no probs with them as of yet.

Reviews also saying that the sub doesn't work when connected to the PS3 or 360 - just the satellites. Also that the sub stops working after a few months.

Avoid IMO.

Good price but I was really disappointed with these....sound quality was really poor. Both the JBL creatures that I gave to the daughter, and the replacement Logitechs sound so much better. The phillips were the worst PC speakers I have ever had and are now sadly in a landfill site somewhere in Suffolk

Well all this doesn't sound too good, i bought them! I would've thought Philips were alright.

Well judging by the comments I would cancel the order, unless you want 4 average speaker satellites and a very large, very wooden paperweight. :)

I've had these speakers for nigh on a year and a half now, can absolutely say that they are a steal at £29.99.

Fantastic... the complaints from people about the subwoofer conking out are probably because they've been fannies and they've burnt it out themselves by pushing too much audio through it.

Definate heat!

EDIT : I get the feeling a few people in here complaining might not have actually bothered to set them up properly. I have them hooked up 5.1 to my laptop and they're loud enough to wake up pretty much everyone in my street without any distortion occuring... If you're in need of a great 5.1 system (in my opinion) then you can't go wrong with this as the price.

Also... why are people talking about it being compatible with the PS3? It has nothing to do with compatibility with the console, it's about your television and the audio input/output it can receive/give surely?
