I'd love to recommend this but i can't. Can't see the point of it as you have to get your face wet to use it?? Surely easier and quicker just to have a wet shave.

These things are always on sale too. In fact this is dearer than usual

due to the fact you whine about these in almost every thread i seem to rememeber you having the 8060 and not the 8460.
yes.. these things (in general) have good and bad points but unless you have tried the upgrade i dont think your opinion is totally relevant. (certainly not on price)

What;'s wrong, you a Philips sharehodler?

Want to buy mine if they are so good?... I would love to get rid of it

Well, I had had a good number of Philishave shavers over the past 33 years (not the first shaver I had, an I have also had a couple of Braun foil type too!), and though this would be substantially the same, but it isn't -

The trimmer was the reason I got a new shaver, the new design is feeble, small and not very easy to use.

The wet shaving is neither use nor ornament, and seems to have very little effect over using it dry, other than cost a lot more in the liquid - which is expensive, and not very easy to get hold of anyway (Amazon seem to have it, but even Boots don't have it everywhere!)
It takes a LOT longer to shave, (2 to 3 times longer!) and the end result although not quite as abrasive on the skin is not any better then before, if the stubble is longer than a couple of day's growth, (which I do often leave it like that!) I need to trim it off with a beard trimmer first to get good results or it takes even longer! (The old shavers coped with anything)
Perhaps it will be good on bum-fluff, but on a moderate beard like mine, it leaves me reaching for the old (& worn out) shaver!

As Philishave still do ranges of models like the older designs, I SO wish I had bought one of those :-(

But you still need to wet your face before shaving!! I have one of these and am just giving my opinion based on my experience of the now dust collector on my bathroom shelf.

Well "woe is me" is a very good description if you spend good money on something which is much poorer than the old worn out one you already have!

You want to encourage someone else to spend good money on something crap then? Does it give some sort of satisfaction?

I just love these people who whinge and moan about someone pointing out real problems, by calling that whingeing or moaning. :-(

The fact that is doesn't collect the dust and hair is a common comment on reviews of all the shavers of this design. not a problem if you do use it wet over the wash basin, but not at all handy to keep in the desk at work, or use in the car.

One of the big benefits of rechargeable electric shavers is being able to use them AWAY from a power socket, and away from a sink or wash basin!

With this type, expect a cloud of shavings :-(

whine whine whine is all i am hearing, as i have said there are good and bad points to these.

you dont get on with them - fine thats you
but how often have you seen people post saying how good they are just on this forum? probably more times than even you have whined.

average review on amazon is 4/5 from 17, 8060 model 4/5 from 208
these people must be terminated cos nihcaj says they are wrong.

the problem with collection? your own as product description tells you about the open design so its your own misunderstanding.

edit: :-(:-(
