Very cheap, but see threads on here about the similar HS8460 and HS8020 HS8040 & HS8060 models (also "Arcitec" range) as they are nothing like earlier type & original design Philips shavers - there is little middle ground, it seems you will either love or hate them, personally, despite being a long time Philishave fan - I hate them! http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/561755/philips-nivea-for-men-8460-rotary-s/../561398/540943/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif

Amazon & similar user reviews on shavers in those ranges are worth looking at too, not just Argos!

It's currently £3.50 each at Amazon
#17
This can be bought from M&S for £78.86 (with free postage using "FREEDL47"). It is advertised at £199.99 but is reduced. Never worth £199.99 and I know the Argos price is much better but Argos are terrible when it comes to stock availability.

Original full price: £199. After VAT, you'll pay only £75.36! See the green box for details.

Free 2 year guarantee

I have tried using "SNSDEC09" but doesn't work for 12.5% off.

Amazon is £77.89

Good price, terrible razor. Had one and have now changed to the braun 390cc which is £74 in boots at the moment. Much better shave and much less irritation due to not needing to shave the same area several times!
#21
Note these shavers must be used in the shower or leaning over the sink as they do not collect the shaved hair it just comes out of the back of the blades.

+1

These things are absolutely terrible. They shave so crap that you'll have to go over the same area about 3 or 4 times. Also unless you're over about 30 years old these will cause too much irritation to your skin.

Secondly these things are so rough going over your skin that you NEED to use the gel stuff in order for it to glide smoothly. You'll need to use it in the shower or spend 5 minutes every day cleaning up your mess in the bathroom every time you use it.

Honestly it's not worth the risk as you won't be able to take it back if it doesn't agree with you.

I am well over the 30 mark, and it still irritates me to death!

If you have problems with sensitive skin try this Panasonic ES8101.
It's the best razor I have ever owned and I am also the wrong side of 30 :w00t:

Are these quiet? I have a Braun that I find a bit noisy.

price gone up £4.49 now , so might as well get them in argos cheaper when bought together.
thanks to op heat added :-)
got one this morning for my hubby, 5 left in colchester

Got one today, best shave i've had with an electric, only very very slightly less close than a Gilette but no cuts or soreness. Gilette is in the bin - sorry been recycled!
#34
I can endorse Ash1984's comments and say I too have just had the best shave ever with this electric shaver, nearly went for the Panasonic mentioned earlier but read quite a few people were not happy with the battery life over a year span, so plumpt for this and glad I did. One other thing to mention is I also purchased the 3 x shaving conditioners for £12.59 but what I don't think anyone has mentioned is that within the box there is also 1 replacement cartridge which is an added bonus and the same box costs £17.35 on Amazon.

not really wasting your money as it comes with an extra cartrigde that fits on the back on the shaver, the bit that fills up with nice smelling conditioning cream, sure these are more than £2 anywhere

yeah but if you look at it, it says 12m
meaning it needs replacing every 12 months
i got my spare cartridge with 3 extra conditioners, so wont be buying any for a while
cant believe its back up to full price

??????????

It will need replacing a lot more than every 12 months if you actively use it! Every 12 days might be nearer the mark, if you are fairly generous with it!

The cartridge IS the container for the conditioner, it clips into the stand, and then is pumped into the shaver's internal small tank when you return it to the stand.

Other people use any number of other liquids with them.... moisturisers and shaving soap or just water, or of course, nothing at all.
To be honest I haven't used mine for a while as I have gone back to using my old worn out Philips shaver as it still shaves better than this type!
