They are always at this kind of price somewhere. Needless to say that i found this razor to much effort to use. Its takes an age to have a shave with it. It is so much quicker with a mach3

Yes, a quick search has shown it is also this price at Amazon and John Lewis. Furthermore, on reading the Amazon reviews it seems like people were buying it for £70 odd quid in 2007 and throughout 2008. Therefore this is possibly one of those inflated prices which is reduced to make it look like a bargain.

Admittidly it is more at Boots but then they had the HQ9170 for £40 as posted on here a few days ago - and possibly what lead to several more razors being added over the following 24 hours!

There was a price match with currys. I did this instore and (as usual) they cocked up and I got it for £56 in the end!

It's not for everyone but these shavers are great if you suffer from shaving rashes...

Firstly, I don't know what version of Amazon you are reading but the razor was never selling for £70 and it is actually quoted as reduced to £81 !!
Secondly, again, I don't know what site you are looking at but it is not stocked at John Lewis?!
Thirdly, the HQ9170 is a diffrent razor totally (comparing apples and pears) retailing at £97 in Boots and not £40. If you open your eyes and actually read the reviews it appears as a mistake and it not actually and existing deal?

Next time post something helpfull to people and not a hinderence.

Crikey? Did you read my post?

Amazon are selling it here is the link http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-Coolskin-HS8060-Moisturizing-Shaving/dp/B000PS6E0W/ They are indeed selling it at £81.99. This price has increased from the other day when I posted the message. You may be aware that Amazon prices can fluctuate quite a lot, as can be seen in the reviews of what people have paid.

There have been 137 reviews. If you had cared to them, you will see the following comments
M Evans 18 Nov 07 saying that "I bought this for 75 in Boots and I think it's fantastic!"
Na Cavalho 24 Dec 07 - "I bought this one for £72 and its a bargain. "
Roy Williams 29 Nov 07 - "Philips HS8060 last week, (early November 2007) for £70"
MG Hull 13 Jan 08 "It helped that it was at the time £73 on Amazon, £28 cheaper than anywhere else & half the price of places like Argos & Boots. "

I won't go on although there are over a hundred other reviews if this isn't proof enough?

So... what I'm saying, and trying to help others with is that rather than being the immediate half price bargain that this might first seem a quick 10 minute look at some reviews shows that it has been available at this price from several retailers before, perhaps not for the whole time, but for significant periods.

And... if you consider it is a hinderence to tell people that your 'hot deal' has been available cheaper from other retailers, and at the time of posting was the same price then perhaps your on the wrong site.

I'm not convinced this is hot, but my vote counts for nothing. The wider community however have hardly voted it hot though have they?!

Secondly... Um, let me think, what site would I look at to see if it was in John Lewis. I know the John Lewis site. Would this be it here? http://www.johnlewis.com/230422739/Product.aspx price £71.45.

Before you start yes, it is out of stock now but wasn't at the time.

Perhaps people found my posts helpful hence John Lewis going OOS and Amazons price going up.

I won't hold my breath for an apology.:whistling:

Funny how everything seems to have changed for you in 24hours eh? I have enough of explaining this too you.

The deal is simple. A Razor over the counter for basically half price, I don;t think they can go cheaper than that. If your looking for a razor there you go, job done.

It amazes me how people like you love to pick holes rather than leave other EDUCATED people make their own mines up with regard to something.

I noted how you commented positively on another ridiculous comment from mercurystar999 further up this list:
"Needless to say that i found this razor to much effort to use. Its takes an age to have a shave with it. It is so much quicker with a mach3" ???

What does this have to do with a hot deal either? No one cares a mach3 may be faster? Its sounds like you and him could shave with a wet facecloth!

Actually I was quoting the fact that he said it always seeems to be this price somewhere, I agreed showing that it has been that price for over 18 months.

As for using it. I haven't got a clue, I've not got one. That is why I educated myself by looking at the 137 Amazon reviews. This education process showed me that yes it is a very good razor, for most, although some don't get on with it for some reason or another but that also that the price you posted is nothing special as it is often this price and has been for sometime.

Therefore I consider myself quite educated to take a view and I considered the deal not to be hot. Get over it.

I have to say that this razor is superb. I previously had a phillips dry 3 head razor which broke, I bought this based upon review and have to say it's the best electric razor I have ver had. It shaves as close as a wet/ dipsosable with me shredding my face. Great for sensitive skin, you can use in the shower and you don't have to use the nivea stuff once it runs out as you can just apply your own shave gel/ foam to your face as usual.
