I purchased this model from Argos in October last year for £39.97.
It was a substitute for a lower spec model, i remembered posting it here and on mse, though can only find the one i posted on mse unfortuantley.
It really is a fantastic phone.
We've had no problems with it at all, it was really easy to set up including the sms feature. The answer machine is excellent and can be controlled by either handset or base unit.
I've voted hot as although not as cheap as it was, it's still a very good price and you probably won't find it cheaper anywhere else.

We bought this twin phone set about 6 months ago now and its definitely the best phone we've had (out of about five over the years). The phone has got lots of really useful features including being able to load up telephone numbers from your sim card (useful assuming you have a sim card in the first place ;-) ).

How much does it cost to use texts on a home phone? I am with BT/18866.

I see with 18866 you can now send texts for 2p via the internet. Would it cost the same using my home phone?

I thinks it's actually 1p per sms via the internet.
To send an sms on your home phone, that comes under BT who will charge 10p per message, unless you go on one of their call plans with inclusive mins & texts.

Another good feature which we use regularly is when we get a call from a withheld number. We let it go on to the answerphone, and if you want to speak to them, you can interupt the message. No more irriating coversations from cold sellers, or the mother in law............

I have had a look at the BT site and with Option 2 you get 100 free texts a month. Option 2 is free for one year if you sign up before end January!
