You can get "Eco-Pods" for these, which are refillable - you put in your favourite ground coffee, making the range virtually endless. These are brilliant, and work out at just a couple of pence a cup as apposed to the 10-20p per cup using the shop bought pods.

Tesco also have their own range of pods for these, in their "Premium" range, work out a few pence cheaper than the Douwe Egberts ones.

Nah its just dowe egberts that comes with it, bit like a new washing machine with a brand freebie w/powder in it. You can use generic pods as long as the pod size is 62mm your ok.

I like Tescos own brand myself [mentioned previously] Theres loads of places sell the pods online like http://www.coffeepodshop.co.uk/shop/product.php?productid=21&cat=255&page=1

Use ours daily, great m/c and well priced imo

Thanks. Does it make nice cappuccio's cafe creme? Most of the pods seems to be just variants of flavours and strenghts of coffee. Will it froth?
#7
They create a "crema" layer, which is quite thick. When using the Eco Pads and finely ground coffee, the layer is so thick you can stand a plastic stirrer upright in it and it wont move, even when moving the cup around!

out of stock - good price tho!

Ah coffee pods. Like Soda Stream for adults.

Do you have a link to anywhere that sells the EcoPods? I've tried a quick google search, and it's coming up with nothing in the UK.

Try typing in 'ecopad' on fleabay - they are about £5 delivered for 2 - from Germany. Amazon marketplace has some - but much more expensive. They seem to be really into their coffee pods in Germany, Holland etc and that seems to be the best source.

Here's an Ecopad review if anyone is interested....

Asda had some of the 18-pod packs for just under £2, or you can buy them from Holland (at www.coffeepodshop.co.uk :-)). My last purchase was a mixed set of 6x36-pod packs @ £3 each + £6 postage, so effectively the same price, but a better choice.

I bought this machine when it first came out at £49.99
I was very unimpressed with it,
The coffee is not that great and comes out luke warm,
And you have to use the 2 cups button to get one decent size cup of coffee from it.

I got mine for £20 from Amazon just before Xmas and I think it's great - good coffee, quick, easy to clean. Loads of different pods out there, and the option to make your own, with the ecopad. Can't go wrong IMHO.

I bought one justbefore Xmas & I'm really pleased with it.

Just ordered some ecopads too - thanks for the pointer there.

I have to agree with MrPinchPenny, lukewarm coffee, and not much of it!:x
#19
All gone now by the looks of it
#20
Does anyone know if these deals are available instore? I am going into a Tescos tomorrow and thought I would have a look.
#21
I have had one for about a year and a half, and I adore it. Coffee from mine has never been luke warm ever. In fact to hot to drink, especially if you pre warm the system (and cup) by pressing the one cup button without a pod in, as recommended.

I have to agree I use two pods and the two cup button for a single large cup of coffee on occasions. You can now get Extra Dark pods which are really quite excellent.

I can quite honestly say I have become addicted to the Senseo and that caffeine buzz :w00t:

Not a philips Senseo but a Flavia

Anyone use a Flavia coffee machine? £79.99 on Flavia website.
Just wondered if any good and if anyone knew anywhere cheaper for one.

Thanks

I'm not sure about the machines, but the last time I was in Tesco they had the pods on offer at 2 for £2, so if want a machine, it might be worth checking if that deal is still on ;).
