Disappointed 2/5
For: Nice design
Against: Lack of bass and musical depth, its a bit dull andnot very friendly.

Looking around for some half decent headphones and these seem pretty good, at this price cant go wrong anyway. Heat from me

Review of Philips SHL9500 on HeadFi (in Shootout: Portable Headphones...") which looks similar.

Noticed Groov-e Retro is under a tenner now at MyMemory. It's a larger around ear model that someone posted on hotukdeals to say was v. pleased with (at £20). Also two good Amazon reviews for Pink and Midnight Blue models. Looks a bit big for around town use though.

Ordered a pair - just spent £18 on some Sony in-ear headphones. Grrr...
#7
Great find, just ordered a pair as I can't get on with in-ear headphones. Can't believe the price difference between shops here... crazy!
#8
Really tempted! Look great but I got some Jvc slimz for £5 from play last month and I really like their bass levels compared to my skullcandy cans. Worried these would be like the skullcandy set, so clear but not powerful enough for me!
#9
Great price....just what the doctor ordered....heat

Will these fit an iPod Touch?
Of course, they're standard headphones and will fit practically all MP3 players with a 3.5mm jack.

How about if I buy them and share them with the Mrs - will they fit in her iPod Shuffle?

Trying to find some reliable reviews on these they look good and say studio quality speakers! I record a lot of music and after a cheap 2nd pair to travel with would like to know peoples views on sound reproduction before buying a set.
#19
Ordered, cheers!
#20

It's odd that they have practically no reviews anywhere. I would be tempted if there were some good reviews....

Sod it I will give them a go seems a really good price compared to elsewhere plus a bit of quidco don't want to run the risk of missing them if they turn out to be a bargain.
#25
Gone for it too. Thanks for the post.

Can someone who has these help me out.

I was thinking of getting some for the kids for Christmas for use with their new iTouches, but does the headband adjust to be suitable for a 7yr old and 10yr old do you think?

TIA

FWIW the Koss Porta Pros were the most recommended on a thread on HeadFi for a 4 year old. An extra fiver from Play. They are an open design though (not that these Philips models are supposed to be great for isolation).

Edit : I see someone posted deal for special children's phones from Amazon which have built-in maximum volume limiter. Might be worth considering.

No probs. Been a couple of additions to thread I mentioned. To find it can Google "headphones that fit a child site:head-fi.org"
One interesting suggestion is Audio Technica ATH-ON3 availabe from Ebay in different colours. These have reasonable sound isolation (review on, where else, Head-Fi). Mind you, can imagine the style of the Porta Pros appealing to a boy; quite macho looking 8)

Thx ordered

Got them yesterday - total dissapontment. Very flimsy folding design, impossible to squeeze into the supplied case, uncomfortable to wear and so-so audio quality. My 30 year old Sony MDR-M55 with it's disintegrated ear pads sounds so much better - so much for progress.

received mine and have been using them for 2 days. Good sound quality, but really poor noise isolation i could still hear everything going on around me, e.g. buses, trains, announcements, bits of people talking! And this was with the music on at a high enough level.
