Do a compare on Amazon.....i think it's pretty good, only downside is i find you can accidentally knock the sensitivity switch....

To be honest a basic electronic will do the job. It's a toothbrush.

I got the diamond version about a year ago-- since then my dentist has commented about the lower plaque and much better gum health-- I was sceptical about the claims when I bought it but the evidence is that if used regularly it works-- however the replacement brushes are pricey but can be found on a variety of outlets on net other than usual high street chains-- my dentist says with these you do get what you pay for so I'm happy with that!

BE WARNED - I'm on my 2nd Sonicare Toothbrush as the batteries simply don't last very long!! I'm the sucker in keeping buying them instead of an Oral B!!! Very poor to have to replace every year!

I've been using Sonicare toothbrushes for 10-12 years. Agree, they don't last, but they have a very good 2 year warranty that I've taken advantage of many times. You do an online chat with customer service, you get a postage paid return label and a few days later a brand new handle turns up.

I had a look on compare and they look more or less identical. This model does have extra cleaing modes. I am not sure if that is worth extra money? Also Amazon does not have details if there is any varaince between rotation speed between two models.

Not when you bought it, but when it was made. So as long as it's within two years of manufacture you should be fine... presumably if you have proof of date of purchase with a receipt they'd accept that too... but can't say I've ever needed to... pity as my last Sonicare just died at 2.5 years old.

I've had both the basic models and some of the posher models of Sonicare. In terms of cleaning they all seem to me to do exactly the same job. The only advantages of the posher models are things like a nicer to hold handle, charge indicators, different 'modes' for sensitive teeth and gum cleaning... but to be honest I've never felt the need to use them.

Maybe... but I figure £30+ every couple of years is money well spent because I've not found another toothbrush that cleans my teeth so well. I've not been to a dentist since I've started using one 10-12 years ago... not had any problems. Oh, and the cheap compatible replacement heads you can get on Amazon seem to be good as well. They don't last quite as long but seem to be as effective at cleaning, but are dirt cheap compared to the official replacement heads.

I also have the diamond, very happy with it. I was guided to Sonicare by my dentist and tbh have never looked back. I have had 3 different ones over last 10+ years, never had a battery issue (used at least twice a day, every day...only recharge when the orange light comes on), but I have had the rubber button split and allow water to leak into the unit on the previous two (after about 3 years use each time), causing the unit to fail. The Diamond model has a hard plastic button though, so hopefully will last longer. I also bought one of their 'Air Flossers', which was ****...never felt it did a very thorough job and the pump packed up after abt 18 months of use.

Still contact them. Mine just died at 26 months and they've replaced. Also, with the date of manufacture they're a bit more lenient. Previously they've replaced when mine was produced 30 months ago.

To be fair, I've read somewhere (can't remember where) that it's refurb handles they send out as warranty replacements (I have one, though you can't determine its history by looking at it). I'm on my third HealthyWhite, and as others have said my dentist has said my gum and teeth health is much improved from using sonic brushes.

Did just that! They are sending me a new one... They must be getting more lenient because they've previously refused to replace toothbrushes just out of warranty.
