Dont see why I bother posting on here...

Amazons price is currently £39.99.... not £22.48

Also with Amazon you would have to wait for it or more than likely pay a delivery charge on top.....

No need for the cold votes...
#3
Come on give the OP a break yes it may "sometimes" be cheaper at amazon, BUT its not now, no guarantees it will be again, they have seen something at a great and competitive price and posted, I remember these being voted hot on offer at £55ish so even alowing for the fact it was a while ago, if it was a good product then it still will be.

What is it with this site lately everybody seems to be on a mission to shoot each other down and theres such a negative vibe on here of late.

I AGREE WITH THE ABOVE ENTIRELY

Yeah i Agree with the above also. Great find Op Heat added Mate

great phone, got one of these free with my laptop a few months back... the freedom of voip with without the headset and microphone, not forgetting that it doubles up as a standard home phone... for £22 seems a good deal for sure! :) nice find! *props*
#8
hi, can you confirm the unit has to be connected via usb all the time?
banned#9
i dont think it does as it goes on the wireless network......
#10
saw this yesterday and thought of posting it....They also had another phone with similar spec for about £20 but it might be skype compatible instead, can't remember the make now but if i go i will update this post....

edit: Think the other one was the USB Dualphone skype or looked similar to that....
#11
I bought one of these abt 4 months back when it was available for 20 pounds... nice piece, voice quality also excellent...
And yes you have to connect it via USB all the time for VOIP facility and it only supports MSN Messenger and nothing else. Best thing is that it doubles as a normal ladline cordless phone
highly recommended for MSN users and also in case you want a cordless phone for one of the cheapest price. Even a sad looking TESCO value cordless phone costs 13 pounds. THis one looks much better with a colour screen...

yes for voip :]

Nice find I guess, but why do people need to post every little detail on their items.. All this does is knock down quite recent deals on to the next pages. If someone was interested in for example the phone, once they see the price they would surely click through to see further details. Can someone please sort the Deals page to only show relevant information on the products.

Not having a go, but this really bugs me, especially when someone sees an item such as a straightener and it only leaves enough space for one more deal on the front page....

There are 20 posts per page, the length makes no difference.

I'm sorry, but I must disagree with you.

I think that it's fabulous that people who find a good deal take the time and trouble to share their find with others and furthermore make the effort of tracking down and listing a full spec for those more techinically qualified them me to look at and comment upon.
By doing this I'm provided with a total 'package' of information for me to consider without having to flit from site to site to find out what I want to know.

If you don't like all the information that's provided you can always scroll past it.

What I do find annoying however is people who waste space in this forum making comments like you have which have no bearing on the original posting.

Clearly your comment isn't constructive and I, for one, would be grateful if you would keep such remarks to yourself.

Thank you !

I thought someone might go off on one!!, I was purely commenting on how much is posted on the front page on a particular iteml. Maybe if you yourself was as constructive as an earlier poster who commented that there is 20 posts per page whatever length, hence answering positively towards my comment. Please be aware also, I am truly appreciative of peoples posts on this site and like others have benefited greatly so I am not knocking the Lister, purely just the format in which it is shown on the deals page.

So after trying to comment agrressively and accuse me of wasting space, I was purely trying to comment in a semi constructive way of having the front page altered so that if you require more information click the deal!!

Thanks

And to all who post on the site, I am grateful and appreciate all the work, effort and time you dedicate to finding such cracking deals!

Tutt, Tutt, Tutt vbnmu and jonnic - and bye, bye

Sorry about the length of the post guys.... I honestly did think people did appreciate a full spec list infront of them rather than linking to another site.

BTW The Skype version of the handset was still £44.97 or something similar in my Cwmbran store... its only the MSN handset I could see on offer.
#21
What is it with some people. You really need to get out more, somebody has put up a great price of an item and taken the time to add it with all the details to save people asking questions about it and people are complaining they saw it a few months ago for a quid cheaper or complaining that the posting is too big.

If you don't like then on your bike!

Some people miss the point altogether!
Jonnic said (and I agree) that giving details is really helpful, but maybe the main HUKD page should only show part of these details and reveal the rest when an interested party clicks on the link where the OP posted the full details!... uhh does that kind of make sense?? :whistling:
#25
Nailz this is a hot post! Thank you for taking the time to post this offer :)

To everybody else whinging, complainingor even commenting about features not relevant to the item on sale,.. use the other forum boards please where suggestions will be read in the right mind set and are more likely to be looked into.

Thank you !!!!

Oh and again thanks for the post!!

Back to the post yet again... Fareham store only had the more expensive Skype version at £44. Gutted coz my battery on my second handset has just gone 2 days ago. Now on the lookout for decent set of DECTs.
#28
Thanks Nailz, i also saw these in the Cwmbran store but didn't get chance to post till now and looking at this i was lucky someone else took the flak !!
#29
If it helps anyone I actually have one of these phones. They are great and reliable too. Ring tones might not be to everyones taste though but does the job perfectly. Heat added
#30
Folks,

I've already got one of these - had a deal on them in Robert Dyas stores, but even then I paid £30 for it, so good find.

Just a few notes for purchasers:

1) USB hub part also connects to the phoneline, so yes, it needs to be plugged in at all times
2) The phone charger can be placed anywhere around the house (works between all 3 floors in our place)
3) Works great as a normal phone, although some might find the handset a tad chunky, it does look quite cool
4) I had some initial issues available with Vista x64, but a quick call to Philips tech support pointed me to some useful instructions. The main issue seems to be the ongoing USB issue that has affected so many Vista users (where a device needs to be plugged in after every restart)
5) Finally, the MSN thing works really well - just make sure your contact has a similar handest, or a mic headset before you 'call' them!
#31
hi hope someone can answer, i quite like this phone but my landline socket is downstairs and would like this phone in a bedroom with the computer, will i still be able to use the phone for landline calls or does the landline need to be next to the PC.

Thanks in advance
#32
None in Westbrook ASDA in Warrington :(
#33
Arronc

Unless you get a really, really long cable that can run from the phone point to the 'base' you will struggle. The base needs to be connected to a USB socket in order for it to work.

If you put the base next to the PC, with the USB plugged in, you could get a cable from downstairs to go into the back of the base, but obviously it would need to be very long, and unless you could hide the cable run, it may become a nuisance.
#35
one review on the amazon site says that the phone allows "very short numbers in the phone book". can anyone confirm what's the limit on the digits you can save?
