Here's a closer look at this:

I bought one of these a couple of years ago for just over £400. Really good purchase (especially if you are one of the few people who hasn't yet purchased an i-pod).

Massive memory, the ability to make playlists and when the stations are linked you can have the music 'follow you' to a different room. But the radio is not digital.

so does the £299 get you the main system and a satellite or just the main machine?

The WACS700 comes with the main unit and one satellite unit. I own one and I think it's great but you do need to be a little bit techy to set it up especially if you want to use wireless infrastructure mode (through your router). It also has been superceded by the WACS7000 quite a long time ago which has a 80gig HD and an IPOD dock. PS You can also stream internet radio and music on your PC to the satellites but not to the main station.
