A dual internet/PSTN cordless phone with 2 handsets. Supports Windows Live Messenger phone calls as well as normal telephone calls.
Originally these cost about £100 and are still £55 at Amazon, so I suspect Currys might be selling them through. My local Currys in Evesham have stock of both.

Also available is a single handset version for £14.97.

read some reviews on this and even for the price apparently the handset its self isnt up to much :( looked so promising
Welcome to HUKD vincem :)

Bargain @ this price... my local Currys have stock !
Can these be used with other vOIP services or are they locked in some way ?

Similar query here.. would this work with VOIP providers such as VOIPdiscount ? :)
I believe this only works with messenger & not with other voip services, Amazon once had this phone incorrectly described as Skype compatible
Also it looks as though there is a central 'box', suggesting that both handsets have to be in range of it. Presumably this means that they cannot be used in different locations - or can they ??
It isn't a SIP based VOIP phone but locked to Windows Live Messenger and requires a computer to access the WLM servers - the box plugs in using USB.
Handset wise, they are similar to all DECT cordless phones and have to be in range of the base station.
Is WLM a free service (I am sure I should know that !) ?
Whilst travelling can I access WLM via a conventional USB handset, and just use these as the home phones ?
that sounds like a strange design but at the price who can say no :p
To be clear, can these just be used as DECT phones and ignore the net aspect?
If so, absolute bargain price.
Yes they can be used as just normal phones without the Windows Live Messenger part (which is FOC BTW).

As normal phones I can't fault them personally. They do what is necessary for a DECT phone. The build quality is very good and call clarity (at least on the ones I have) is excellent.

I think the answer to your question is yes - have a look at the pdf that's linked by the image above
The Philips website says LANDLINE and WLM-USB phone, ie can be used as a regular landline phone.

Naff multimedia website though that frankly tells you hardly anything about how/if it works for you:

Though once one finds the product code for the twin handset you can find out a lot more
where they have SOME clarity ie it is DECT and does do LANDLINE and does integrate WLM (must be optional otherwise if your PC was off you wouldn't have any landline!)
"The VOIP433 is a dual DECT phone, which allows you to make or take normal telephone calls on your landline as well as free or cheap calls through Windows Live™ Messenger. Access your contacts list simply by pressing the Messenger key.
"Landline and Internet calls on one handset
As your dual phone is connected to both the standard PSTN line AND to the Internet line, you can establish or receive landline and Internet calls on the same

NOT many stores seem to have any left though :(
What a top quality image ;-) Good olde Currys!

Thanks. Got a set reserved at scarborough where my dad can collect tomorrow. I doubt I will use the msn part but I am in need of some new dect phones and that seems a bargain for less than 20 quid.

Just reserved on in Doncaster. I take it there is no problem using this with Virgin cable??

Hope it works, I paid £60 for my last DECT pair (Philips). They have been great but are past their best. You can't get a decent set for anything like this price and I actually like the look of them. The VOIP is an unexpected bonus but I just need a good landline phone.
awesome - just been from currys - they had them on the shelf for 79.99 - the single version is on for 39.99
got the lad to check the price and it came up as 19.97!! bought one - the lad was shocked to say the least and he mentioned that he needs to change the ticket on them !!
