Are you 100% certain it's the 'Phoenix' sofa?

of course someone had to say something bad about argos sofas, i have one for 4 years now and its quite comfy and well built paid under 200 for it so i think its started paying me back by now...
#11
gonna get this for my dad's clinic, thanks
#12
Good price but you need a fair bit or room behind sofa to allow it to recline. Cant have it against the wall

I agree, I've had my sofas for over 5 years, and my only regret is i got them in cream (never again). I'm thinking about this offer now. :)

Judging by the picture, the back doesn't seem to move much, if at all. It looks like it's a legs-only recliner, but I could be wrong. Can anyone confirm?

Quidco tracked at £15, I bought a 3 and a 2 seater with £100 discount. I know I may not get it though, as Quidco doesn't list it as an applicable offer code.

Come off it you post a link to newspaper article that is almost 3 years old!

Think the problem that was happening with argos sofas would have been rectified by now!

Gees... some people eh!

It says its comes in two parts, does it mean one part with two seat and the other with a single seat put together, wondered if this could also be used as a single seat on its own?
#21
I must admit I have a 3 and a 2 seater sofa from Argos.
I'm glad I got 2 at the time because 1 of them was 'dead' with no cushion to it at all & I might have just thought it was a case of getting what you paid for, fortunately it was obvious that 1 of them wasn't right & Argos came & switched it right away, that was 5yrs ago and they are still going strong.
Mind you I don't have kids (yet) but I do have a loveable but maniac pussy cat who likes to lie on his side and pull himself along the bottom edge of the sofas (and occasionally - when I don't catch him doing it and shoooo him away - he likes to hook his claws into the top of the armrest when sitting on the floor & have a big stretch) they have held up very very well to that sort of abuse.

TBH I couldn't say a bad word about the sofas or Argos.
This is an excellent deal, I'd love to buy a recliner but just don't have that sort of space free now.
#22
I'm surprised this hasn't got hotter than this. Basically, for a 2 and 3 seater you're looking at £500 total. As an example, I've just done a quick search and found that Very sell a 3 and 2 seater for £1,098.
#23
Ordered a 3 seater and 2 seater last night. Then got a message "unfortunately we can't send you a confirmation email at this time" error. So no idea if they've got my order or not.

Yes, since then they've dramatically improved their quality control process, not sourced from the cheapest chinese bidder anymore, and only use quality materials.

Ordered a chocolate 3 seaster and a 2 seater for £593 including £15 quidco (supposed to be 1.5%) last Thursday. Argos rang on the Friday 10th March to arrange so it's being delivered this Friday 18th, that's what I call service. Just means I have to hurry up with the decorating!!
#29
yes mine's being delivered same day. Would actually have prferred it a couple of weeks later!

My husband took the phone call and he reckons they said they would deliver at 7pm. What did they say to you? 7pm sounds an unusual time to deliver sofas and I think he's proabably got it worng as usual
#33
Mine have just been delivered and I'm very pleased with them. Lovely and comfy and seem well made. Excellent for the money
#34
Mine arrived within the 2 hour time slot as specified by Argos prior to arrive. I ordered a 3 seater (which was delivered in boxes both of which were taken in to our living room by the delivery guys) and a 2 seater which came in 1 box but was too big to fit through my front door. However this wasn't too much of a problem as all I did was open the box, remove the cushions and back rests and all the pieces fitted through my door no bother.

Both sofa were self assembled in 15 minutes, the cushions zip on and the back bits slot and lock in very easily.

Very satisfied with my purchase, sofas are so, so comfy!!
#35
Just taken the plunge and ordered the large and regular sofas.

I used the new discount code of "HOMEDISC" and my total including delivery was £508.93p not forgetting 1.5% cashback from quidco.

Just hope they are comfy when they arrive!
#36
Well I'm really pleased with mine. They're lovely and comfy and both of the seats on the 2 seat recline to horizontal so it could be made into a double bed in emergencies but at the same time you don't have to recline the back if you just want the footrest
#37
Looks quite similar to mine except I paid £1200 !! Is the leather nice and soft as we ended up paying so much as the leather on all these cheap ones was so hard?

Very pleased with mine too. Although I've never reclined to a horizontal position on either my 2 or 3 seater, is there a knack or do you just keep pushing back?
#39
Just keep pushing back!
