Just came back from my local 99p store (croydon) and saw a new pic n mix stand. you can fill up a cup for a pound. considering the price of pic n mix these days, i think this is a right bargain

Even so, bound to be lots cheaper than at the pictures if you work out the weight you're getting for the price. We've got a 99p shop next to the cinema in our town and the pic n mix in the cinema is a COMPLETE rip-off (as are all the snacks in there) so we'll be getting a couple of these next time we go - happy days!

Took my lad to see Nanny MacPhee on Orange Wednesdays the other day. Went the pictures at the retail park and there aren't any shops to get sweats around there so we were reduced to buying stuff inside the cinema. He put little over an inch worth of sweats in the bag and it came to a whopping £4.64! I know buying stuff in the pictures is always going is never going to be cheap but that was an absolute rip off!

BTW One of the woman in my work used to work in Woolies and says it was store policy at the end of the night to sweep up any sweats off the floor and put them back in the jars to be resold the next day!

The cup is the same size as those plastic party cups that you can buy in the supermarket.

i will ether overfill the cup and take them or find a big cup or bowl in the store and fill it and pay 1.98 for the cup or bowl filled up lol anyway heat added

Wilkos have a good self weigh on their pick and mix, even better if you somehow make it lighter on the scale ;-)

Yes stealing things is always much cheaper, but not really playing by the rules is it?

Maybe you should just buy a set of wicker baskets and fill them all with things from round the store that you like but don't feel like paying for.

I think that's called stealing

I don't steal anything myself but if my naughty child happens to grab a load and stuff them in his mouth then there's not much I can do........!!! ;-)

After seeing this thread, and as I was going to get some Irn Bru from 99p Store anyway, I thought I'd investigate. I thought the choice was pretty good - all the best ones (typical ones though, no cadbury roses or anything branded!) and they actually tasted fresh (obviously I purchased them first). The cup is pretty decent in size, when you consider its £2.99 for a normal sized cup in Wilkinsons(/used to be in Woolworths) the ones here are more than a 3rd of the size, and as it doesn't go on weight you can stock up on the heavier chocolate sweets.

The detail above probably makes me sound like a fat b*st**d, which I'm not, but I like pic'n'mix and this gets my thumbs up.

I was about to say...

If you ask me I wish people wouldnt moan about Pic and Mix.

Wilkinsons does it for 64p per 100g or £2.99 for a fairly decent sized cup - probs similar to the size of a large cup in mcdonalds.

Fair price if you ask me....
