Not recommended. Worth much less than the offer price.

agreed looking at the contents it is overpriced, the tools are probably rubbish quality too.

i have reserved as a "joke" xmas present for a recently divorced friend, and yes, she does have a sense of humour:giggle:

Looks like really poor quality, the tools wouldn't last 5 minutes.

And pink?!
#11
I have reserved this as a joke present for the girlfriend.

As for quality I don't think that she will be doing major diy with it.

Condescending, much?

I can imagine lots of people getting a swift kick to the chuddies for any misogynistic idiot that buys this for their partner.

My daughter however loves tools and loves pink so it's the perfect gift for her. =]

Quite why it would be misogynistic defeats me. Hackneyed and condescending maybe. Perhaps chauvinistic although that's open to debate. Also probably unwise unless you are certain said partner's sense of humour runs to post-feminist irony.

But misogynistic? No

(Misogynistic - hatred, dislike, or mistrust of women)

I believe that some weirdo conducted a study that determined that women would be more inclined to do DIY should the tools be coloured in a 'girly' fashion.
#19
thanks cat, i love it, at least my son or o.h will leave these well alone.

and all you stop your winging, cant be bad for £4.99

Ordered one as JOKE Xmas pressie for wife. Vote HOT. It's invariably the ones with just the odd green square who seek to post negatively about someone else's bargain post. Funny that...
#21
Thanks My daughter will love this Voted hot  :santa:

Normally people pay less for things in pink because they are not so popular (eg Mobile Phones).
This tool set is of poundland quality, therefore massively over priced at a fiver. Only worth buying as a joke present (Secret Santa anyone?).
#23
Thanks
#24
I also have ordered as a JOKE present for a friend. Like others [I suspect] I am buying it because it is pink, not for the tools! As for buying tools from Poundland - you have got to be kidding me!

I remember last xmas when a large number of work colleague's daughters were getting PS2s because there was a pink model out. They were never interested before, so I can believe that!

Probably true..research has shown that an adevrtising leaflet is more likely to appeal to a woman if it's printed on pink paper..
#27
I am guessing that it this tool kit was black with naked women printed all over it would get a 'HOT' vote from the males on this forum regardless of the possibility of poor quality tools....:whistling:

I built my own tool kit from the poundland recently.

£4.00 for tool box, 10 screwdrivers, 1 tape measure, 1 multiple pocket knife set.
#29
brilliant find ..........just ordered one for an extra christmas pressy.......still some in stock at Cromer

voted hot pick gifts are in at the moment and lots of people will love this deal at this price even if the tools are worthless. Saying that they will do most of the easy jobs they maybe needed for around the house. The rest of the stuff they can't do will be done by the DIYer of the house with the real tools.

Remember everything has it's use if you use the right tool for the job and this is a handy set that can be kept in the house in a cupboard, for doing minor odds and ends. I have tools of low quality in the house for such things and my real tool live in the shed. Changing a fuse on a plug does not need screwdriver of "snap on" quality, so personally I would rather keep all my good tools together and not have to go to the shed when I need a screwdriver and insted have a **** set that will do easy jobs in the house.
#31
I think it is a great HOT deal...I voted so because when OH is at work I have no idea where to find the tape measure, or screwdriver and I often need these things!

Now I can have my own little tool kit!!

:-D
#32
Just be aware that its not the toolkit advertised on the argos site that you get its an alternative one

Its actually a 26pc kit you get instead

but its just as cheap and tacky :whistling:
#33
Actually i quite like this. My hubby bought me the same one last year and the quality is ok. It's not meant for anything heavy duty, but i like having my own little tool set even if it's only for changing batteries in the kids toys etc.

Hilarious.

I wasn't posting negatively about the bargain find. I was posting negatively about the item.

How dare you insult my green square. It has confidence issues and by calling it odd you have made it all upset now :-(
