Pink salt lamps.

Pink salt lamp absorbs water and particles from the air, it also takes positive ions with them. Then, when the heated salt releases cleansed water vapor back into the air, it also expels negative ions which have the opposite effect on our airways – increasing cilial activity to keep your lungs clear.

Absolute rubbish! Amount of "negative ions" released too small to be measured. Pretty light but thats all it is. More false health claims like the ones for salt.
Still at £8 where is the harm as long as you don't take it seriously?

I have 2 and they are pretty. I also have less damp on my wall now! ;)

I am into alternative health, and I call bull on this, yes negative ions are good, but get a proper ion generator for that, they are very cheap anyway.

Health benefit claims are a load of rubbish, but they give off a nice warm glow and are great for rubbing your chips on

Had one of these in my loft. Always puzzled why it lay in puddles of water!

Salt takes moisture out of the air but when heated the moisture come back out, hence puddle.
Hot price for these great lamps,

paid about £25 for one an Amazon a couple of months ago. Great little lights, no good for reading but fine if you want an ambient/night light

Was given one of these as a gift and was told about all the 'health benefits' at the same time. I turn it on every night and my health has not changed, as expected, but the ambience has vastly improved.
Good price for a pretty light, thats it.

Your wall may be less damp but that's not due to these lamps.

Got one for Christmas, feel like a super hero. I mean the first week of switching this on totally amazed me. Walking down by my local river I seen a cyclist come down the hill and straight in the river... His clothes so wet and it was freezing he was in so much danger... the lamps power took over me... I managed to run across the water so fast like a skimmed pebble, grabbing the man by his hood and dragging him to safety.

So yes I thoroughly recommend this lamp.

Disclaimer: I have heard not everyone can skim like a pebble. Try at your own risk.

No idea but what would they be doing without the money from doing it?

Your name should be bringdown, as in Captain Bringdown :p

But seriously, is anything morally okay to buy these days?? I can't even buy a pretty lamp without facing a massive ethical dilemma

lol sorry, couldn't help myself. I've been told that himalayan pink rock salt mostly comes from those conditions. I still eat it!

These just say 'salt crystal' without any mention of the hamalayas, so I think you're in the clear regardless ;)

No doubt they are having a jolly old time enjoying their childhoods, just like the children did whom we sent up chimneys in Victorian times.

Been to all my local Lidl's can't get hold of any, some stores said they didn't even get stock in. Such a shame. Any one know of any alternative places/sites that aren't too expensive, wanted to get a couple as gifts. (Yes I know some of you said you have had them as gifts and hated them, but these are for 2 people who I know will love these... plus one for myself)
