Pioneer BDPLX55 3D Blu-Ray Player with FREE 2 Year Warranty £249.97 @ ElectricShop
5* reviews
The Pioneer BDP-LX55 is a 3D ready Blu-ray player with incredible picture and audio performance and great functionality, that rivals much more expensive competitors.
In their 5 star review, What Hifi Magazine said "With both DVD and Blu-ray and in 2D or 3D, its picture quality is exceptional" (WhatHifi.com).
The BDPLX55 boasts twin HDMI outputs - the second one carries audio only, ideal for those without a 3D Ready A/V Receiver or for those who want to split the audio/video signal - simply connect the audio HDMI to the AVR, and the other directly into the 3D TV. Qdeo video processing delivers smooth, stable images free from noise and interference. The full 1080p picture resolution means movies are crisp, detailed and sharp. With DVD upscaling of DVDs to 1080p your existing collection will look better than ever. Plus, with the 24 frames per second 'native film' format motion is smooth and controlled.
iPhone/iPod Touch and Android device owners with a wireless home network can also take advantage of a freely downloadable app that will let you control the BDPLX55 using the intuitive touch interface on your device (see the video above).
The BDPLX55 handles all the latest HD audio formats and has an optical digital output, making it suitable for use with older AV amps and receivers. The universal disc player supports SACD and MP3 discs, while you can also playback FLAC and other digital formats over your network, from a DLNA compatible PC, laptop or smartphone (see the video above). Playback of compressed formats such as MP3 really benefit from the Advanced Sound Retriever which enhances and restores the music closer to original quality (see the video above). With Kuro Link, you can also control basic functions of compatible Pioneer A/V devices, such as A/V receivers using the remote control of your (CEC compatible) TV and an HDMI connection.
You can also view the interactive 'BONUSVIEW' features found on many Blu-ray discs such as picture-in-picture commentary. Internet connection lets you watch YouTube videos and Picassa, and gives you access to BD-Live (Blu-ray BD Profile 2.0) content which can be downloaded to a connected USB memory device. The BDP-LX55 can network wirelessly with the addition of the optional AS-WL300 adaptor.
The BDPLX55 is built with high quality audio products so it's not just amazing picture quality but sound performance too. With the brushed aluminium fascia and robust design, it looks and feels the part as well.
For an excellent 3D ready Blu-ray player which delivers stunning pictures and sound, look no further than the Pioneer BDP-LX55.

If your hitching this up to a 300/400 quid TV then it would be a waste of money, horses for courses, if you have a high end TV with reference pic quality hitching a 50 quid player up would be a waste of money. This is worth the money if you want the best picture quality available on a top TV. IMO this ones better...http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-DMP-BDT500EB-Network-Blu-ray-Player/dp/B007Z0JJQO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344202699&sr=8-1
Oh, Cinavia under a directive is now present on all blu ray players ( sucks i know ! ) so be careful with future firmware updates!!
