These RRP and sell for around £1500 so this is a good deal! Also was recommended as one of the best home HDTV's around.

Not full hd but doesn't mean this isn't one of the best performing tvs around. Hot:thumbsup:

forget the full HD marketing, this tv is one of the best available for picture quality.

If I could afford the pioneer I would have bought this. I could only afford the panny px80 for £749 though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Empire Direct sell this TV for £1,200 then there's a 7% Discount Code kicking around, when paying by PayPal and 2% Quidco.

Final Price around £1092

rated as the best 42in and under tv by every review going(trusted review, stuff, homechoice, what hifi, cnet, etc), except which? (but then thats no surprise given the way the way they rate their tv's - 40% of their rating goes on picture quality  - the pioneer still came out as a best buy but their cons were - a heavy remote (WTF!!)) and slightly higher power consumption than LCDs (the difference, if any, if negligible, anyway)
thats right its rated better than any 1080p tv on the market.....its quality of its components.....whats the point of having all those pixels if the components are rubbish......its a bit like saying a 10 litre engined car dogs dinner of a car (some american garbage) will be better than a fine tuned 4 or 5 lite one (lambo/ferrari).
i have the 428xd...pq is awesome

still a great tv though...i went to buy the panny 42px70 in sevenoaks, had a demo of the panny against the pionner...also viewed the pioneer 50in 1080 set (awesome, could afford it but couldnt justify £3.5K on a tv!!)
blown away by the pioneer...it is better than the panny but hey the panny is a damn fine tv too.....and the px80 is even better.....i will probably be buying a 37px80 or 42px80 for the bedroom
