You have used the term " tonne " which is the term for 1,000 kilograms (or 2,204.6 pounds), and relates to mass. Reckon you meant to use the term " ton " - which is a slang for £100 ??

you need an amplifier to go with it.. having called Richer Sounds ;) yes it's an entry level set of 5.1 speakers

to connect something like a dvd or pc you will still need an amp

not vote cold or hot - it's the OP's first post ;)

These have been this price for about the last 4months as I've had speaker packages bookmarked for some time while looking for a decent deal on an amp. It's a good price but it's not a deal if you ask me as it's the price they sell them for.

This set isn't bad for the money - I paid the same almost a year ago.... but I think the sub lets the set down a bit - It's fine for movies, but can't handle drum&bass... voted hot anyway

you put wrote the word full stop when you could have either just used the sign " . " which in itself is a full stop. or you could have just stopped talking.

Decent brand for a decent price. Would be good for a beginner 5.1 system, although they are a bit over-rated imho

I have gone through a couple of 5.1's in the past. My Living room is not very big.
I finally settled down for a wonderful piece of british manufactured Aego 2.1 speakers. They are proper, and i mean proper.
Dont have any jazzy functions, but they sound too good.

I know not a very helpful post, but I think if you want to make a "sound" decision and are going to spend a "tonne" (deliberate :) ) and have a small living space and dont want too many wires and want a decent sound quality and build quality and Aego is worth considering.

I have one of these and they do the job. Happy to spend a ton on them a while back, worried the kids were going to stuff the sub with food and bits.

Cant really go wrong for a ton.

As the slang for £100 is derived from years and years ago it was indeed a ton. But as we are now legally obliged to sell things by weight using the metric system, surely tonne is correct? :)

I bought these speakers a year ago in a package that came with an amp for £250. The speakers are good looking and give great sound. Voted hot.

And you need to hit the space bar after the question mark and the comma, full stop.

    Not sure if serious.....

You'll pay around that for an entry level active subwoofer alone. So for the set this is a steal made by a reputable manufacturer.

With HiFi and Home Cinema the sky is the limit. But for someone who has SkyHD/PS3/Blu-Ray etc. but does not have a surround set up, pair these speakers with any entry level 5.1 receiver and the new sound experience in films and games will blow your mind.
