which amp would this be ideal with?

You get what you pay for.
These are "budget" speakers , the centre and rear speakers look a bit small.
#12
whats all this about "amps" ? what are they ?
I know how to wire a plug so if its something to do with that i should be ok, but any help appreciated

Ok - for those less 'informed' members, you will need a budget '5.1' amp to go with these lower end speakers.

Have a look at the YAMAHA RX-V361 or SONY STR-DG510 which can be had around the £130 mark.
These speakers say they handle 80w and even though the budget amps say 100w per channel, but in the real world its not even going to get near.

But it even a budget setup like this should still stand head and shoulders above an all-in-one box solution.

Something like the Pioneer VSX-817 should be ok also, Pioneer amps tend to be bright sounding, but at this end of the spectrum it doesn't matter.
The price however puts it inline also with the likes of the Sony STR-DG710 which has the advantage of HDMI connections for uncompressed audio and 1080p video (for the likes of the PS3 use).

Also a cheap active subwoofer would be good to finish off the setup.

Something like the S-W90S would match subwoofer wise on a budget

Richer Sounds are usually good for receivers and amps (receivers have built in tuners).
