right so this is not hot even though it is £2.95 cheaper??????
#4
Well it's surely a better deal than Zavvi considering it's at least £2 cheaper?

I'll grant you there's no proof to say this deal is either legit or nationwide though.

I voted cold.
£3 off a blu ray boxset isn't a hot deal. It's the cheapest yes but so what? Should I go on the web and find the cheapest place to get the LOTR box set, the HP boxset, and every other DVD & bluray that is £3 cheaper than everywhere else and put it on here?
This isn't a hot deal, it's a deal okay I could go with that, just not a very hot one. It's just a slightly cheap bluray.

This isn't a comparison website, it's for hot deals - this isn't one.

This is £5 for each blu ray. Seeing as they're Disney blu rays and the best price I've ever seen I think it's hot and I'm sure others will. I've added heat.

so what you really mean is that you paid £18 for it and are now p*****d to see that its £3 cheaper. lol

@jase.2 - I don't know if this will entirely address that actually. I find a lot of people vote those deals hot b/c they are 'no-brainers'. People naturally want to vote but they don't want to vote wrong. So if they see a *cheaper* (not necessarily a hot deal) DVD they hit hot vote pretty quickly. Items that take a bit more work to understand if it's a good price or not have a harder time getting votes as most members won't research the price to double check. I think a lot of that comes down to writing a good description of why it's a deal. That's what I'm trying to think more about now.

Still, that's not a reason to vote it cold. You could've just left it or voted with the middle button as this isn't a bad deal or anything

I think you completely misunderstand Admin's point as you are quoting it in the wrong context.

Good deal if it's the latest release that doesn't hve the clipping problem.
#23
good find hot from me
#24
Any idea if this is the 6 disc version? Zavvi quotes 3 disc for theirs.
#25
demo quality transfers -

and its only coz theres a select few who want all 4 in one box that they're this cheap!
#26
@sohail123
all 4? if u mean the new movie then it's not important as this was a trilogy, the next 3 are standalone movies and not linked other than the obvious ;)
#27
Good price, shame that only the first film is worth watching. Hopefully the fourth one is no way near as bad as the third one was.
#28
I'd say this is a good deal and there were at least half a dozen copies in the Crawley Store earlier on today

Using someone else's opinion does not make you right....

It's a hot deal because it's 3 Disney Blu Ray's £5 each. Also they are pretty good films and show how well HD can be done.

Just got back from popping to may local sainsbury's (croydon) and managed to pick up this trilogy box set for £15 they still had about 4 left after I got mine and they also had the dvd trilogy for £10, they come in the slimline disk cases and all in a cardboard sleeve. seems a very good bargain, plus you get Disney movie rewards with it for people who collect them. I also got my free Dr Who figure with the Mirror :)
#31
Damn it. My local Sainsbury's doesn't stock Blurays.:(

You shouldn't... the only eligible Pirates is the One Disc AWE DVD released after Feb of last year.
#32
Hot from me. Will check my local later and pick this up if there. I enjoyed all 3 films (although admittedly the first is best) and I bet the locations look great in HD!

This is a new "stripped down" release with the movies and a few extras on a 3 disc set. On AVForums buyers have received Disney codes but have been unable to register them on the Disney site as the barcode isn't recognised. Disney admin staff have however been manually adding the points. I saw this in store (looks very similar to the DVD packaging, the only way I noticed it was because of the price difference). The reason I didn't go for it was that audio is DD/DTS only (no HD audio), unlike the US release.

AVForums users have also confirmed that the framing issue is not present on this set.

It clearly says on the back of the boxset participating Disney movie rewards title and in the disk case for the curse of the black pearl mine has a leaflet saying about the rewards program and another one with the points code.

Picked up boxset from Wigan, had about another 4 on the shelf. As previously stated, comes in new slimline cases, 1 for each movie. Nearly missed these in Wigan as they had put them with the DVD's as the packaging is identical, just smaller blu-ray packing & small blu-ray logo on the bottom right so easy to miss.

Not sure why some people are moaning about only £3 cheaper than online prices so not a hot deal. Sounds like a hot deal to me.
#36
just to help you guys locate this boxset, it is number 2 in the offers chart, the dvd version is number 1. the store doesn't need to have a blu-ray chart to stock this, offers chart includes both dvd and blu-rays now.

Huh... funny. Disney Movie rewards UK have been adamant that current POTC films are not included and will never will be (barring this AWE 1 disc DVD). What they up to? Liars. XD

I apologize for that.

Also what framing issues? I didn't notice any problems when I watched it on Bluray (though I'm not sure what region blurays my sister's got).

See here, posts 23-28...only seen PotC once years ago so can't place it exactly myself!

This release does not have HD audio codec but does have uncompressed PCM audio ;)

Not sure why people are saying this isn't a hot deal

If a retailer gave you a 15% voucher off a Blu Ray boxset, the deal would get scorching. So whats the difference? £3 cheaper than the next best is over 15% saving.

Just look back at the Zavvi and The Hut 10% deals in the past - they got pretty warm, and this is a better deal than that.
