"The name comes from the Pitchfork rebellion of 1685 the last battle to be fought on English soil of the Civil War.
A golden bitter with floral citric hop aroma. It has a hoppy predominate taste which is slightly sweet and fruity and leaves you wanting more."

Picked up a load of these last night and just been back for a few more. Lovely beer for those that prefer to savour the taste of fine ales and bitters. A real bargain of an ale at this price.

On the subject of ales, there are some great deals in Morrisons at the moment also, Hobgoblin, Spitfire and Ruddles are just £1 a bottle, there's really no excuse to be drinking water tasting mass produced lager these days ;)

Good to see proper tastable beer on offer, don't happen very often because it takes more than just a couple of pennies to make and distribute this stuff. The big brewers would much rather we all drunk the stuff with the huge margins, they can make lager for less 1p a litre, store it for ages and ship it in cans to people who chill it right down so they can't taste how rough it is.

Anyway, back to this deal. Seems to be a Somerset local thing, there is a beer offer in my local Tescos like this but not Pitchfork. Note the label on the shelf about local brewers.
Hot, heat added!

Ah, could be, bought mine from the Taunton store.

As you suggest sounds as though it will be a different local beer on the same promo throughout the country.

Don't forget if this doesn't interest you, you can always pop over to Morisons and get some Hobgoblin, Spitfire and Ruddles Country for a pound a bottle, happy days;-)
Its a pint bottle as well, pretty rare in itself these days!!
In Devon the equivalent offer is for 500ml bottles of O'Hanlon's Goldblade Wheat Beer at 91p, not that they've had any stock in the two stores where i have seen the labels:

Tesco is also worth checking out right now if you like to get a bargain on exotic lagers. In the Exeter Extra today, I got a few 330ml bottles of Budels Organic Lager (imported from Holland) reduced to 49p each:

And I also got a few packs of 4 x 330ml bottles of TaaKawa Indigenous Ale (imported from New Zealand) for £2.24 each

It looks like they are clearing out some of these lines, so stock will vary between stores.
