Wow - that is a good price, I paid £100 more for this only a couple of months back

I love the way Panasonic seem to be sticking to their guns and only making LCDTVs up to 37" and plasma above that.
They've even setup an independent looking website (where it's difficult to find evidence that Panasonic is behind the site - except all the lovely adverts for Panasonic TVs) trying to convince everybody that LCD is rubbish for big screens and plasma is best - Yeah. right; that's why almost every other manufacturer makes 55" LCD tellies ('cos they're no good).
Either Panasonic are right (and Sony, Samsung, Toshiba, Sharp, LG, etc. are all wrong), or Panasonic are short of cash and can't invest in a plant to make LCDs above 37".
You have to admire their cheek ;-).

All that aside; this is a pretty good price (representing around a 5% discount) for a pretty good telly. Heat added.

Well I would be surprised if the reason is a lack of cash as Panasonic (Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd) are amassive company. While I own two LCD TVs my main set is a Panasonic plasma and I just like the picture on the plasma. It just looks more natural than LCD.

This is a very good deal for a NeoPD Panel - the only thing that has put me off these new Panasonics is the fact they include a FreeSat Tuner (which I cannot get being in a Grade A Listed Building) that and the fact they are still holding on to their 1990's design ethos.

Seemingly from next year onwards you can expect some absolutely stonking high end Plamsa sets as basically Panasonic have "bought" a lot of the Pioneer Kuros "secrets" and taken on most of their designers/engineers ... so coupled with Panasonics know-how we should get the best TV's on the planet by a wide margin, but hopefully not at Kuro Prices.:-D

Which is peculiar position Panasonic are putting themselves into. On one hand they make a 42" LCD TV (which I didn't know); on the other hand they've setup an LCD vs. Plasma website (which to all intents and purposes appears independent, but isn't) telling everybody LCDs bigger than 37" are rubbish compared to plasmas.
Crazy!!!
