£77.10 + £5.40 shipping = £82.50

Same price as Amazon inc. delivery for those that prefer (No Quidco though).

I bought the 160gb version from Amazon a few weeks ago - £54.90

"self-powered" is a bit misleading. It uses the power via the USB port of your computer. And even then, some older computers may not supply enough power via its USB ports and so the drive won't work, needing extra accessories from Western Digital.

Edited title to include price & retailer

i wouldnt say it is misleading - everyone knows that self powered entails with usb products...

Again, someone should point out that you take your life in your hands with Pixmania, no customer service, the products turn up any time up to 3 months after ordering and if anything goes wrong the products are French so you have no statutory rights.

Was just about to post the same thing.

Have made a couple of orders with Pixmania; none of them went smoothly.

Avoid.

Went to PC World tonight with a print out from Amazonzon.co.uk showing the price as 74.95 plus 4.50 postage and after a discussion with her manager the girl at the till sold me the 250gb western digital for 60.10gbp. I think there was a mistake with their maths. PC world high street kensington by the way.

Great deal and nice looking hard drive.

Cheers

A week back the price of Pixmania was 69.90 and amazon also had this for 69.90 (Pixmania as supplier). So i took the print to PC World and got it price matched. and 10% discount. but he matched it including the postage of Pixmania so got it at same rate of 69.90.

Postage is actually £6.80, it's £5.40 to pick up from their London store. Pixmania are notoriously bad for delivery and returns etc... so i'd be very dubious of using them. Their postage costs are a joke... £6.80?? that is just stupid.

If they're selling it in the UK (which they are), yes you do.

Indeed, I ordered a camera for the missus from them last christmas, it got lost in the post, spent two months chasing them (I was told over and over they had e-mailed/phoned them when they hadn't) got it sent again, never arrived, more chasing. She finally got it in July after a took the refund and bought it elsewhere.

They send their items from France, their customer services are based in France, their products are usually French products (eg have continental power leads)........

Are they covered?
