Planet of the Apes
Charlton Heston and Roddy McDowall star in this legendary science fiction masterpiece. Astronaut Taylor (Heston) crash lands on a distant planet ruled by apes who use a primitive race of humans for experimentation and sport. Soon Taylor finds himself among the hunted, his life in the hands of a benevolent chimpanzee scientist (McDowall).

Beneath the Planet of the Apes
In the acclaimed sequel to Planet of the Apes, another astronaut (James Franciscus) crashes through the time barrier searching for the missing Taylor. The daring rescue leads to a subterranean city where mutant humans, who practice mind control, worship a weapon capable of destroying the entire planet. Both an action-oriented science-fiction adventure and a wry commentary on today's world, it's imaginative entertainment for fantasy buffs of all ages.

Escape From the Planet of the Apes
Roddy McDowall and Kim Hunter reprise their roles from the original Planet of the Apes in this third chapter of the Apes saga. Two intelligent simians from the future, Cornelius (McDowall) and Zire (Hunter) travel to present-day Earth. They become instant sensations, wined and dined and treated like celebrities--until a high-level plot forces them to run for their lives.

Conquest of the Planet of the Apes
Colourful, futuristic sets, a relentless pace and an action-packed climax highlight the fourth episode of the legendary Apes saga, starring Roddy McDowall and Ricardo Montalban. The time is the near future. Apes have supplanted dogs and cats as household pets, and replaced servants as personal assistants--until their continual mistreatment provokes one advanced ape from the future, Caesar (McDowall), to lead a spectacular revolt. It's thrilling science fiction that offers both a serious message and stirring entertainment.

Battle for the Planet of the Apes
Roddy McDowall and Claude Akins star in the fifth and last chapter of the legendary Apes saga. Set in 2670 A.D., an idyllic society of man and ape is threatened by both a militant gorilla (Akins) and a tribe of still-intelligent mutant humans. Finally, simmering tensions dividing the primates erupt in an apocalyptic climax. When the smoke clears, the carnage is everywhere, but there is hope for a new beginning for man and ape. Co-starring John Huston, Paul Williams, and Lew Ayres.

Product Description

Complex sociological themes run through this science-fiction classic about three astronauts marooned on a planet where highly intelligent apes rule and humans are slaves. The astronauts suddenly find themselves part of a devalued species, trapped and imprisoned by the simians. But one, the defiant Taylor (Charlton Heston), manages to break out and, aided by a pair of compassionate chimps, makes his escape to an uninhabited section of land. However, during the trek he makes a very unsettling discovery about the planet.
The film, based on the novel by Pierre Boulle with a screenplay co-written by Rod Serling, led to four sequels, a TV series, and remake in 2001 by Tim Burton. "Get your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape!"

Plus you should really be crediting Catto01 for actually finding the price match and posting on your Play.com deal.

FP - I think you should go and stand in the corner and reflect on what you have done. If it hadn't been for the posts above you could have brought HUKD crashing to it's knees.

I was actually in the submit screen entering the details when I received notification of Catto01's comment via e-mail, but I have no problem with sharing the credit at all.

Thank you Catto01.

With respect not listing both retailers together, if one/other of Amazon (UK) & Play.com raise their price or exhaust their stock, then the thread will no doubt be expired.

This way, I ensure the price for this item is found regardless of retailer.

Also, one or other retailer needs to take the "lead" in the deal listing via the [go to deal] button.

If everybody reading the original "deal" thread chooses not to use Play.com & goes directly to Amazon.co.uk instead, HotUKDeals loses "click-through" affiliate revenue.

I would prefer to use Amazon because of the recent security breach at Play.com where e-mail addresses & names were taken but the retailer failed to inform the public for months thereafter!

Oh well, I guess you're allowed out of the corner then.
Amazon has expired, Play still live.

I have marked this thread as 'Expired' but a few more members doing the same will be needed before the listing is confirmed to be 'Expired'.
