BBC pioneered so much technology and techniques in this documentary that it's actually unreal. Now, not to take away heat from this deal because at £14 this is a bargain - it's the most breathtaking thing you will ever have the pleasure to watch, and you learn so much in it too.

But... If you have a hi def. telly, you really must see this show in BluRay or HDDVD as the bitrate and MPEG technology used in DVD just doesnt do the documentary justice.

Seriously, the best thing ever created for television. I just wished my TV licence fee's contributed to more of the same, rather than the usual **** we get on TV year in and year out... x factor, im a celebrity, big brother - load of TV dribble. Replace the **** with quality BBC shows like this!

yeh agree, also really enjoyed the big cats show...so did my 7 year old son.....i even watched that rather than a football match..now that is saying something!!
dont mind a small helping of reality stuff but there's too much...never been a fan of BB, tv with a load of losers for a load of losers, im a celebrity was fun the first time, but boring now, xfactor same as celebrity but is even more cringeworthy (best bit is watch the prefinal selection - with the no-hopers..what a laugh!)
you fogot the fuddy duddy dancing drivel...except old foggies and dull people, who does ballroom dancing anymore?

This debate starts every time Planet Earth is posted, its 1080p, trust me. Some scenes aren't but the majority is and looks amazing (have it on HD-DVD). The UK edition says 1080i on the box but thats because the extras are in 1080i so they can't claim its all in 1080p however the main feature is.
